This Is Scary

Hackers Anonymous said yesterday that they found several supposed Daesh targets. One of them on the list was apparently the Five Finger Death Punch show set for today in Italy. Scary stuff. After the Great White concert fire and the shooting at Al Rosa Villa, I always hesitated going into smaller clubs. I much prefer open air venues. These latest terrorist attacks and threats against concert halls make me nervous, too. From Blabbermouth: first this...

Then this...

I'd be more afraid in larger stadium sized venues, than in small club spaces.
Logistically speaking, I question why they targeted the relatively small Eagles of Death Metal show, when they could've waited 1 day & hit U2's Paris Stadium gig... which would have inflicted much more damage, to many more victims, AND been broadcast to the world, via the HBO simulcast that was supposed to happen.

FFDP sucks but i dont wish any ill towards them, hopefully they keep the show on, so Lamb of God sees how its supposed to be done! Cant let the terrorists win. This is Man business!

The whole situation in Paris is now even more horrible when you consider the authorities were actively surveying most of the attackers but did nothing to detain them BEFORE the attack!

Don't let fear deter you from Rockin'!

p.s. They suck except for their cover of Bad Company's "Bad Company", BK.

Musical preferences aside, I'm not sure how to feel about this.

It's always been conventional wisdom that to cancel shows, alter what you were going to do, etc. means that the terrorists win.

But if you are FFDP or any artist or whatever, do you take the chance of putting on the show/event? What if the threat is not idle and people die because you don't want to give in to the terrorists?

That's a heavy burden. I don't have any answers. It's a tough postion to be in.

Just something to think about before we go praising or bashing anyone's decisions.

My thought on why the terror cowards struck the Eagles of Death Metal show is because it was low risk with high impact. Security at a small show is not as tight as a large show making the small venue a soft target where as the large stadium show presented more challenges for the terror cowards to have to deal with. I agree with Metal Boy FFDP's cover of Bad Company is their best music but one thing about the band is they can play and they have done several tours to the sand box to support our troops which I respect. I don't think most Americans understand the danger of travel abroad and in this day and age of extreme radicalism I don't blame them for canceling any show in this situation. I agree with The Cheap Seats if they do cancel the bad guys win but in reality they have already won the battle by striking fear in the hearts of everyone around the world.

You guys are right... I commend Five Finger Death Punch for both playing for the Troops and cancelling their gig for the safety of their fans.
