DJ Ashba Quits Guns n' Roses

DJ AShba quit Guns n' Roses, announcing his decision yesterday on social media with a special letter to fans. He says he's forging ahead and focusing on SIXX: AM. Part of me can't help but wonder if he was "invited to the opportunity" to quit by Axl Rose. But who knows, maybe this really all was DJ's decision and he was sick of G n' R. Now I wonder who will get that guitar spot in Guns. Thoughts?

This will open all sorts of time in his daily schedule for Starbuck runs, e-cig smoke breaks, charm school lessons, etc. ;)
But I don't really think the hat was Axl-enforced. Do you? I just think the guy lacks self-awareness. His Suicidal Tendencies-inspired look in the new Sixx AM press clippings suggests that the man has no problem falling into a variety of fashion vortices (this, admittedly, coming from a guy who is no fashion plate himself!).
Good riddance, DJ Cashbag! Nice lettering, though. Is that cuz you "really care" or is it cuz you don't know how to type, which upon self reflection, might be a good thing!
I want another Guns N Roses CD, 'Chinese Democracy' was amazing.
Of course it would be great if the original band got back together but I never really entertain the thought cause I just don't see it ever happening.
After hearing the brilliant 'Chinese Democracy' it made me realize that I don't give a F#ck who is in the band as long as Axl is the singer & main songwriter.
Since the last gigs they did were like.... 14 months ago.
Seriously? You thought Chinese Democracy was "brilliant"? REALLY?
I'm sure you'll be able to find a handful of people who agree with you on that.

Of course, the next thing Jakki could insert here is he personally likes it and doesn't care what other people think, here's a case where the sheep are right...
And even though Ace is right, over all, I'll give you this, Jakki... Some of the songs on the album are great, but they are also so f*cked up by overwrought production, the melodies and hooks are buried in dissonant noise.
That's why the ones that ARE actually pretty good from a songwriting standpoint sound a heckuva a lot better live... because they are given a more straight ahead hard rock treatment when performed on stage.
I'm no rocket scientist but that's pretty damn excessive, considering the album flopped.
Yes, 'Chinese Democracy' is brilliant.

Personal taste is all subjective, so neither of us are right or wrong, but of course you wouldn't understand that because that involves having a functioning brain.

I lived it and lived to tell about it and so did Ace! And I'm still livin' it... Last show I saw was Priest. Now, I'm goin' to 80's In The Park in August and The Darkness in August plus the Cruises.
Judas Priest, Jakki! You should meet us there and then tell me what you think!

I just don't get why you & Ace always feel the need to attack people.
Plenty of posters here are fans of stuff I can't stand but attacking them for it would be a complete waste of time.

I hate that Motley Crue & Guns N Roses are just touring bands & have no desire to record at least one last album.
I am definitely negative when it comes to that, but it is only out of frustration for bands I love.
Otherwise, I'd rather just talk about stuff I love.
If some topic doesn't appeal to me then I just don't comment at all.
Saves me time for the more fun things in life.

I can't recall Ace ever saying anything positive about any of the bands here, but I know for a fact that he hates a hell of a lot of stuff.
I think bashing bands that s*ck and fans of those bands IS fun, Jakki. And when people want to engage in the conversation, that makes it even more fun!
If you combed over all my comments over the years when the name of a band I like pops up, I'll rave about 'em to high heaven. And when I don't like 'em, well, I obviously make my opinion known. If everybody agreed or didn't engage in debate, the conversation would be pretty boring.
I'll be the first to admit, sometimes my facts and figures can be off but that's primarily because I'm usually too lazy to fact check. One thing I'll never have to do is care what people think when I know a band s*cks. Triumph, RUSH, Mr. Big, Winery Dogs, Iron Maiden, TeSLUG!, Trixter, Winger, Damn Yankees, etc. totally blow!
Besides, who are the REAL poseurs? It's people who can't tell good from bad when it comes to Rock & Roll or just pretend they like a band so as not to stray from the heard.
