Judas Priest Announces Short Tour

I received this email yesterday about a short Judas Priest tour. It's basically all east and west coast and Canada. Maybe some of you can hit a show or two.

"Due to the overwhelming success of Judas Priest's 17th studio effort overall, 'Redeemer of Souls' (which became the highest-charting album of their career, when it debuted on the Billboard 200 charts at #6), the band has announced a fall tour, which will hit the U.S. and Canada, from October 16th through November 12th. Supporting Priest on the U.S. dates and the Halifax engagement will be one of modern metal's top bands, Mastodon.

'Redeemer of Souls' also went on to become one of the most critically acclaimed releases of the band's career, with Rolling Stone stating, "Above all, 'Redeemer' is proof that Priest can still call themselves metal's defenders of the faith," while Revolver Magazine offered further praise, "Thus rejuvenated and recharged, the Metal Gods have delivered their strongest record in over a decade."

Priest at the Pearl ! Great venue...
I'm actually saddened & shocked that "Redeemer of Souls" is their highest charting record of their career. You'd think Screaming For Vengeance or British Steel would have done better.
Just goes to show how much the record industry has shriveled away.

Because of the age old running joke regarding the milk toast stigma of the place.

If I had the bread (make that "whitebread") to see them anywhere, I would pick there!

I am going. Nothing could keep me away from this show.

And DJ was right, Rob doesn't sound so great when he sings Painkiller these days. But every other song still sounds amazing. Saw them in October and they still bring it. Big Time !

Ace, the reason bands like JP are charting so high is because nobody buys albums any more except diehards. Remember how high Kix charted last year? 10,000 diehards buy an album; bam!!! Top 10!!!!

Screaming and Defenders need not worry that Redeemer is "better" although it may be great.

Regardless, I'm there because as peeps say.... "They still bring it"

How's that retirement treating you lads?

As much as I love Priest (and I do), they really need to fuck off, along with Scorpions, KISS, and every other band that never even tried to stop touring after their "Farewell" campaign.

Last I saw them was on Nostradamus tour and they were definitely dragging then, I cannot imagine it is any better now.

Still, I am considering getting a ticket, because I hate the thought of missing Mastodon.

Oh wait,.. tickets START at $120 each??? Pass....

Rita! You're in Canada?! I see I really am going to need a G5! Maybe Crüe's black one with the Dr. Feelgood logo on the wing when it goes to auction with all the rest of the props after the tour concludes... That is, if they don't open The Mötley Museum somewhere in the Valley with the plain suspended from the vaulted smoked glass and chrome I.M. Pei designed tetrahedron shaped roof.

Man I'd love to see Priest. The videos at Download Rob was kinda slacking. Still I've missed em the last two times they were here and I'm still kicking myself in the ass for it. Redeemer Of Souls was brilliant.
