Is Steven Adler Part Of The Guns n' Roses Reunion After All?

So check it: Whisky A Go-Go posted an alert on their Facebook page last night, announcing the cancellation of an early April Steven Adler show. #GunsnRoses and "big announcement" are included in the post. So, to me this means our friend Adler is joining the Guns n' Roses reunion in some capacity. #YES.

The Steven Adler show on 4/1 has been canceled. Stay tuned for a big announcement ! #GunsnRoses

If this is so, why not get Izzy, too, even if it's just for a one off. I mean, what the h*ll, Izzy hopped up on stage when Gn'R was Axl solo with a bunch of hired hands so now why would it be an issue to show up for the big reunion?

My thoughts on that Metalboy! Is that for the longest time nobody knew Adler would be a possibility for this, we only knew that Axl, Slash, and Duff would be apart of it, and that alone would sell tickets...which it did. Maybe this is just the typical old GNR way of doing things that we've all become used to. I really hope this is a full on reunion and branches out into something more than three shows, because if I had the slightest chance of opportunity to go to a reunion show, I'd be there going batsh^t crazy whether I was in the front row or at the very top of the nosebleeds.

If Adler and Izzy get on board I'm gonna get serious about attending. Maybe Izzy is laying back and seeing how the reception is and stuff and then if all looks good join up for a World Tour????? Have they all been in the same room or rehearsed together yet? This thing could also implode very quickly. Hey if Eddie and Dave can suck it up and do it anybody can in my book.

Wow this is great!!!!! Ripper would love a world tour! It would be special, maybe bring The Mighty Tesla on board to open the show, get the crowd pumped and in a frenzy craving more!!!! 🎸

Since the April shows have been announced, I have found it very interesting that there has been NO word from the Adler camp. This is a guy who never saw a microphone he didn't want to talk into and has stated a hundred times over the years that he wanted the band to reunite. In fact for the past few years he was the only member trying to carry on the OG GnR flag. However, we haven't heard a peep from him. Positive or negative regarding the reunion. I still don't know why both he and Matt Sorum could not share the duties. First part of show Adler, small drum solo, swing out Sorum, play Illusion stuff, then swing Adler back out for double drum set and 3-7 song grand finale. Makes sense to me. Plus if Adler falls off the wagon, Sorum could play the whole show and no one would mind. They wouldn't skip a beat.
Izzy has always been his own person and is the wild card. I agree with Darktown, if Adler and or Izzy are involved my interest peaks a lot more.

I am going no mattter what. I've been told by my BFF so I'll be there, Adler and Izzy or no. i would definitely be happiest if its all five originals, but even if it's not, I'll still be there.

I'm sure Adler's been told to keep his mouth shut or else.

I hope and pray that this pans out.

And if it does, I hope that 'Down on the Farm' isn't part of the setlist. :-)

Keith Roth or Luc Carl I can't remember which one mentioned the possibility of exactly the scenario Gallogs commented on above, a few weeks ago. Gallogs is also correct in the analysis of Adler this guy has screamed for a reunion forever so the silence from his camp really makes the conspiracy theory of what if, just maybe its a real possibility Steven is included in some capacity. @Brian C Down on the Farm would be an awesome opener to the set just roaring at you from the stage....

Talk about a healing moment for Adler if this goes down... Really for all of them, if it happens, because of what happened with him and how he left the band.

I like the scenario Gallogs is outlining, as it's something that has been floated out here way before dumba*s Luc Carl or any of the other parasites made mention of it.

I recall when Izzy quit as it was shortly after the "Use Your Illusion Tour" warm up concerts at The Ritz in NYC I was fortunate enough to have witnessed with VIP tickets, one night actually seated next to Iggy Pop.

I remember thinking he probably quit primarily because they had sold out with overblown crap like "November Rain", etc. Also, I'm sure he realized he would still be taking in millions in "mailbox money" off all of his writing credits and royalty checks.

That would lend credence to Darktown's theory of Izzy laying back.

Personally, I think it's gonna go down... All original line-up.

p.s. Jack T. Ripoff! That's the funniest sh*t you've ever written so far. I doubt Guns n' Roses have ever even heard of Tesla! Hahahaha!!!!

A healing moment indeed...

However, I read in a GNR biography that one of the main reasons that Izzy Stradlin quit was that he was a Heroin dealer/user. Nikki Sixx and Steven Tyler were some of his regular customers and right before GNR exploded, he was busted and eventually put on probation.

He was continually having problems with his probation officer, trying to stay clean on the road and not being able to pass urine tests, coupled with having to give his PO his tour itinerary and having a curfew. Every time Axl would go on late or the tour got re-routed, etc...his probation officer would come down hard on him for not taking his probation seriously and threaten to incarcerate him. He couldn't take the demands of staying clean in GNR and follow the terms of his probation, so he left.

I am sure that there are many other factors involved, but this is a piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked.

and yes, another reason why Axl is a selfish prick, as he knew the demands being placed on Izzy, and simply didn't care and then Axl had the audacity to posts signs in their videos asking, "Where's Izzy?" Um, probably staying clean and out of prison.

Sigh, man I don't know, this so could implode. Rumored around yesterday was Axl filling in for AC/DC as he was in Atlanta yesterday "trying" out??? Like I said before I don't think these guys have been in the same room together to , say, rehearse?? All I know is it's pretty crazy how they have people shut down and not saying a dam thing about anything GnR related, that's a shit ton of people in the know and not a peep!

Metalboy! Izzy did more than warm-up shows with GnR before quitting. He was in the band when they toured the States and Europe in the summer of '91.
March 23, 2016 | Unregistered CommenterSnoot
Gotchya, Snoot. As I said, "BEFORE he quit", which is accurate, I just didn't specify WHEN he quit.

Darktown, that would be so large if Axl fronted AC/DC! Maybe he can do both Gn'R AND AC/DC!
