Let's Talk About Cold Sweat!

Here's a blast from the awesome Glam past: Cold Sweat! "Let's Make Love Tonight" is from 1990. The band featured Marc Ferrari. Oni Logan was the original singer, but left Cold Sweat to go to Lynch Mob. Cold Sweat only released one album and it is called Break Out.

This one is obscure - does anyone have any live stories about this band?

I do not have a live story but love this album. I just bought the LP online last week. Lost the CD after leaving it in my 6 CD changer in my truck after totaling it. Lost 6 really great CDs that day. Just listened to the entire album Sunday...every song is killer and I love the singer better than Oni from Lynch Mob so I'm glad George stole him from Cold Sweat.

Ever hear the story of Lynch stealing Oni asking him "Do you want to be in a band called Ferrari or do you want to drive a Ferrari?" Cold Sweat was originally going to be called Ferrari after Marc Ferrari.

Too bad they only made one record. They were great. You can hear Rory the singer in another band called The Lost. They are more grungy than Glam though. Still love his voice!

Never saw them live but I've had the cassette since day one and on CD for quite a while too.

JAT and Jack! With ya all the way on this one! Yeah, Rory Cathey completely blows Oni Logan off the stage and I've also got their sole 1990 release, "Break Out" (Clever play on words between band name and title, don't ya think?) on every format -- LP, CD AND Casette, including a Japanese import CD.

Al, you call this obscure, but, as you may have seen in my previous comments, I much prefer to refer to an album as great as this as a "hidden gem". It really is phenomenal!

I actually told Ferrari when we were both headed in to see Saxon on The Monsters of Rock Cruise that "Break Out" is easily in my "Top 25 Greatest Albums of All Time" and he said in jest, "Sorry you feel that way." And I shot back, "Hey, you're completely killer on that album!" to which he promptly replied, "Thanks, man!"

But, of course, what I meant is it's in my "Top 25 Greatest 80's/early 90's Hard Rock Albums of All Time" and that's The Metal God's honest truth!

I seem to recall the band was named "Cryin' Shame" and had their logo drawn up & everything, THEN found out another band had already © that name.
They had to find a new name that included "CS". Marc said he broke out in a cold sweat worrying about deadline and hence, the new band name was found.

Nice, Ace... Did these guys make the rounds on the strip and did you ever catch 'em with Oni?

Or in any permutation, for that matter? Ferrari sounds like a killer in those guitar tracks!

MB,,, Back in the late 80's the Whiskey a Go Go had Monday nights as the "No-Bozo Jam Night" where all the bands would use the same basic equipment & play short 4 song sets. My band played one of those nights with Ferrari's band, when Oni was still their vocalist.
