What Have They Done With The Real Axl Rose?

Happy Summer Sunday! Axl Rose sure is happy these days, and I'm happy for him. He's being personable and smiles a lot... it's weird, right? Here's a goofy Axl concert moment from Instagram.

OMG I'm dying 😂😍 #AxlRose #GunsnRoses

Axl has finally grown up. It took him until he was 50 or so to do so, but hes finally learned. And all of us rock fans are lucky enough to be witnessing it!

It is kind of weird, but I'm happy and won't complain. Axl is way better aND is taking GNR to the top again.

Maybe this is the real Axl, and the old Axl was angry all the time because he thought his life was crap.

Can someone please explain the plaid shirt tied around his waist literally ALL the time?

It ain't the Chicken Dance, but it will do.

I suspect the happiness is the result of two things: (1) a mercurial genius realizes he is blessed; and (2) cash for days!!!! Fans win. Axl wins. Slash wins. Not a lot of downside to all of it (and I will keep my previous posts where they belong . . . previously).

But I think they will have to record a new version of "Get in the Ring." Perhaps, "Would you kindly step into this squared circle so that we might engage in an airing of grievances?"

I'm glad he's happy. That came through loud and clear when I saw the show Saturday night. It was a great show. Almost worth the 25 year wait (and money lol). No let down that's for sure.

Wished they played Get in the Ring instead of Coma but overall it was amazing. AXL sounded great, even though he couldn't hit the high notes at the end of Rocket Queen like he used to. Still glad they played it though. That's my favourite GNR song to this day.

Only time he seemed a bit pissed. was when he was relaying the story of just being delayed at the Canadian border because one of the band members forgot (!?!) they had a gun on board and didn't disclose it. You could tell he was mad and he never said whose gun it was, just not his. But with all the death glares sent Fortus' way, I figured it was his. LOL.

Catch the show if you can kids. Even with the prices being what they are, still worth it. Big time.

I just hope they make a new cd.

I have no words to describe the talent & carisma of this human being, I could only see him 3 times live here in Buenos Aires...if you fellows want to enter a real time tunnel and see the best gunner audience, come on 4 November to the River Plate stadium. In my country there is a gunner culture, only GNR, the Stones and the Ramones were able to do so. I'm talking about children with 10 years listening to Appetite for destruction, whole families will be in this show.. near to the stage.. all the hooligans of all the teams of different categories of soccer will be on this show...In my coutry GNR It is heard today in the most decadent part of society, as also the highest sectors..Sorry for my english...Regards from Buenos Aires!!!! Long live to L.A.Guns to!!!
PD : I must admit that I envy that can you so easily see rock pillars like this

Hello Steve! We slag on what we have here, but we do have some chances that others do not in terms of concerts. Nice of you to provide such a visual description of your GnR dedication. Hope you get to see them again soon.

Rita, where is the _full_ review? The pictures? The gritty stories? The "fly of the wall" (not an AC/DC reference, though it is a good album) details?

So glad to hear you enjoyed yourself. I never cooled to Axl, though I am glad to hear that a lot of people are re-warming themselves up to GnR. Enjoy these sorts of shows. Time is ticking!

Yes Him - I'm really glad I caught the show. This could be it for them after this tour. Or not.

I was hoping Adler would make an appearance but he didn't, in Toronto anyway. Hopefully he will show up again for some other US stops.

While I was never lucky enough to see them in the late 80's, early 90's, they sounded very good. Would have been nice to have all of the originals there but I think AXL, Slash and Duff did a great job or recreating the original magic.

Female keyboardist was cute but still not sure what her role is other than as eye candy.

Wish Duff sang more. I love his voice too. And Slash was on fire, as usual.

A great show. and yes, Steve, I agree. We are lucky to have so many great shows in our neck of the woods. I'm thankful for that.

Okay, enough with the unconditional love of Axl!

Though he is singing better than he has in decades and is killing it with AC/DC (even more with them than Gn'R, IMHO!), he acting like a doofus in this meme!

Thanks Rita. I totally get your point. Glad it was a good show that turned out to be worth your while.

But. Metalboy!, you can't suggest that a meme is how he is acting?! It captures a moment. Usually, it is short-tail vs. long-tail. Funneled back into the flow of things, it is just a slice of time that adds to the overall experience.

Or do we need to start using # and emojis?

The meme captures a moment... And in this moment, Axl looks like a doof!
