Tesla Release Video For 'Save That Goodness'

Tesla have a new video out for "Save That Goodness." The video features Def Leppard guitarist Phil Collen. Collen wrote and produced the track. The song is from the band's new album Mechanical Resonance Live!, which is out now. The song is downright catchy. I dig it.

Good song. Nice vibe to it, & bonus points for not a single guitar or amp in the video that was built past 1969. Those are the sweet, valuable quality stuff.

I love it! If this had been on Forever More it would have become my second favourite Tesla record.

Wow, I really like this song. It has that Tesla sound, with a nice hook and big chorus. Fits in well with their catalog of solid rock songs. I know it's probably a cushy gig to open for Def Leppard in the third slot, but they really need to go out and play more than a 7 song set every night! I'd love to see them in a club setting play a full show.

Pretty good song. I love his voice, unique and soulful. They kick ass live for sure. Saw them open for the Scorps a few years ago..great live band.

They are consistent. I give them that. They seem to be a permanent anchor band on Def's run of festivals in recent years (well, two) as well. Good for them to still be chugging along.

Question for you more ardent Tesla fans (and Metalboy! too): do you miss Skeoch? Listened to an interesting and seemingly candid interview with him on Eddie Trunk the other day (as well as reading the interview he did on CRR). Seems sorta' sad that he is reduced to doing Skype guitar lessons for 80 bucks a pop, even if the wounds and the result are--even by his own admission--largely self-inflicted.

Besides the usual trash I would talk about these guys, I'll give 'em this -- At least it's better than most of the crap they've put out in over 20 years.

p.s. As far as Sketch goes, it seems like if anyone could hug it out and take an original bandmember back, it would be these guys. And since they haven't, there must be some really deep sh*t between him and the band -- unless, based on said sh*t, he knows not to even approach them.

I dig this! Huge assed sing along chorus that's literally tailor made for live shows. And like JAT said, I've always been a big fan of Jeffs voice. As for Skeoch, people do some terrible shit when they're addicted to any opiate, let alone the " Big H". It literally WILL RULE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. But he must've really crossed a line back in the day for these dudes not to even consider bringing hm back? ( although maybe Dave Rude is a low maintenance team player,so why Ben consider replacing someone like that.) On top of that, He's more than an adequate guitarist... Who knows the reasons....

Dave Rude's been in the band for about 10 years I think, right? And he seems to be liked by all the guys, especially Frank. You can tell from the "Comin Atcha Live" DVD how well he fits in, and his playing is stellar. So I'm guessing they've all just moved on by now.

Thanks for the feedback on Skeoch, gents. It must have been a pretty damn torched bridge (but I suppose that's what happens when you go into a downward spiral of drugs).

And Skeoch seems to realize that, as well as the fact that Rude is there to stay and probably a lot less drama than he is. He also hints at--in an all too common tale--the fact that it is one member in particular who really doesn't want to deal with him (not Keith, who he says he talks to sporadically). In at least one of the interviews of late, though, there are some odd comments about how he handles drinking and, shudder, pain meds. So perhaps it is better for him to do his thing and Tesla to do their thing.

Sorta' reminds me of the sad tale of Richrath and REO Speedwagon. Just couldn't get it together. There are other tales like this, obviously. I just hope Skeotch's coda doesn't turn out like that story (or Lane's, or . . .) did.

I think we can all guess WHICH MEMBER of Tesla will NEVER give Skeotch the time of day.
