Brilliant Idea: Concert Mats
I wish I had thought of this: door mats made from old concert tickets. You can mail or scan your old ticket stubs to Lakeside Photo Works and suddenly your favorite concert is now an awesome door mat for your place. These start at $34, which is cheap for a nice door mat.
My problem is that I don't keep concert stubs. I never had anywhere to display them, so I just pitch 'em after the show. I really wish I had an Aerosmith stub to turn in to a mat. Since the band is supposed to tour next year, I'll definitely keep my stub and then order one of these for my front door. Too cool! Hat Tip: Sixx Sense.

But, now that I think about it, I wouldn't mind wiping my feet on a Sixx:A.M. stub. Seems sorta' fitting.
Nice to see things have been humming along during my sabbatical, even some new names. At the same time, nice to be back. Can't wait to see what Allyson comes up with as summer, alas, turns to fall.
I base my decision on who to give the tickets to: A father and son/daughter, a mother and son/daughter or two friends wearing t-shirts of the band who are currently on (or about to go on) stage. Ironically, I have the hardest time trying to give the tix away to a mom/child. I guess that's just the protective nature/society in which we live.
I have made my wishes known, I want to be cremated with my tix along with a few select concert tees' which are too badly tattered these days to continue wearing.
p.s. Allyson?! WTH?! I can't believe you NEVER saved any stubs considering all the shows you've seen. I kept most of mine unless I was too drunk and lost it... Probably the most prized I managed to hold onto: Led Zeppelin, Capital Centre, Largo, MD, May 27th, 1977.
For the record, this camera/photo company is located about 10 mins from where I live. This rocks they are getting some great publicity.
Side Note, I worked for the concert promoter named on this ticket (Beaver Productuons) for 5 yrs after College (in late 90s/early 00s). The ZZ Top song Jesus Left Chicago is about the owner of the Company. The comoany has been in existence since 1969, had their Nola home office completely submerged after a levee breach from Hurricane Katrina in 05 and they have managed to keep going as an independent promoter through all the Live Nation, AEG industry takeover changes. Gotta give props to all the independent promoters who never threw in the towel.
Juat some tidbits for all you BBG-ers out there!! \m/
