New Year, New Quiet Riot Singer

Quiet Riot has a new singer and his name is Seann Nicols (formerly of Adler's Appetite). The band played their first gig together on January 26. Nicols did a fine job but it does make you wonder how long he will last. Quiet Riot has had a hard row to hoe. It probably would have been better for the band to start fresh with a different name after Kevin DuBrow's death, but I suppose that would have made booking gigs harder. Everyone has to eat.

I agree. They should've changed their name just like "Queen" should've. Just so happens that both replacements are about equally as talented.

BK, there are several obvious distinctions between Queen and Quiet Riot, aside from Queen's unrivaled success on every front when compared to Quiet Riot, namely, chart dominance, in album sales and hit singles, Grammys and membership in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Quiet Riot has one remaining classic line-up member as opposed to Queen with three original members plus a very successful singer in his own right, WAY more technically skilled than this new dude for Quiet Riot, especially when you consider how much more demanding the Queen material is vocally than Quiet Riot's.

And, again, the real reason to see Queen, one mister Brian May on lead guitar!

A little advice, BK... when trolling, at least make an argument you can win.

Queen only has 2 of their classic lineup members, Drummer Roger Taylor (who;s alway been my personal favorite Queen voice) & guitarist Brian May. Bassist Roger Deacon stepped out when they went on tour with Paul Rogers as vocalist. Just Sayin.
vazo.
As for Quiet Riot, bassist Chuck Wright is being slighted here. Chuck has been around & involved since the days of the "DuBrow" band, years before Metal Health was released. In fact,You'll hear Chuck's bass playing on about half of the Metal Health record. Rudy's photo may be on the album cover, but he only played on 4 songs on the record. The rest was Chuck Wright & Carlos Cavazo's brother & "Snow" bandmate, Tony Cavazo.

As usual, MB has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. Perhaps he and Lambert should go in a closet together? Go ski some slopes, you professional skiier you. Lol

Thanks for the clarification, Ace.

I was fortunate enough to see Queen WITH Roger Deacon -- along with all the original line-up, as I mentioned, previously.

I also had the pleasure of seeing Quiet Riot POINT BLANK with both Sarzo at Hammerjack's in Baltimore AND with Chuck Wright at Network in Pasadena, MD.

p.s. BK -- I skied in NASTAR, not Professionally. And you should still go see Queen for the reason Ace, myself and others have stated -- Brian May!

Like I've said multiple times before..this is good for the guys in Quiet Riot, but in my opinion I just see it as a cover band because Kevin is no longer with us. And Ace, it's funny you mention the band Snow because I recently came across a documentary about the LA scene from the mid 70s to early 80s that focused on them, a band named Ala Carte and a few others who I cannot remember, very cool to see how these guys were the first bands in that specific era that sparked and inspired so many bands but never really got a ton of exposure.
