Chickenfoot, 'Divine Termination' -- New Video

Chickenfoot is back with a video for their song "Divine Termination." The new song is from the package Best + Live, due out March 10. This is good stuff.

I want to like Chickenfoot - individually I like every musician but collectively as a band I can't make it work. It sounds clinical - maybe Joe is just to precise, I can't put my finger on it. I want to say lacks emotion? am I off the rails..

Actually Shawn, in my opinion you're right on the mark. I love all these guys in their other projects. There's so much talent rammed together that somehow it just seems contrived? They have some songs I really like ("sexy little thing" cooks) and you can't beat the vocals of Sammy and Mike together. But yet....

Agree 100%, Boyz!

My take: Uninspired and Generic, probably more because of Sammy Hagar as his stuff has ALWAYS been pretty boring and mediocre save for catchy but dumba*s tripe like "There's Only One Way To Rock" (his best song by far, though still kinda stupid), "I Can't Drive 55" or "Heavy Metal" or anything from the Van Hagar canon.

Also, Joe Satriani hasn't done anything remotely clever since "Surfing With The Alien".

Chad Smith and Michael Anthony are total pros but are wasted on this project.

You are absolutely correct when pointing out, the whole simply doesn't equal the sum of it's parts. Yes, they are talented musicians technically but really have nothing to offer in terms of songwriting. Let's face it, the stuff isn't catchy or memorable in any way.

Shawn, are you going to Def Leppard and Poison in KC?

Never has a band's song title suggested what would be the best outcome for the band itself. Inspired, boys. Inspired.

Sigh.......Can't drive 55, YIKES! UGH! Haha, he still had what I call rare gems other than the FM hits, This Planet's on Fire, Trans Am, Bad Motor Scooter - Montrose, Rock the Nation - Montrose, and of course Rock Candy - Montrose. As a young rocker punk ass kid those Montrose songs were pretty badass at the time. Rise of the Animal when he played it live was a pretty cool
jam. Since this is one of my favorite movies, Fast Times At Ridgemont High he did for the movie is still a great song.To me.I think pretty much after Standing Hampton it was down hill, till the Van Halen bros came calling. Which I was never a fan of but that's just me!! Thing that I haven't seen him do very much is play guitar along with which ever band he's playing with, I mean I know he does occasionally but not like when he was the Red Rocker.

Darktown! I'm with ya on Montrose, probably his finest hour other than "There's Only One Way To Rock".

p.s. Shawn, the Strip-O-Gram I'm having sent over should arrive around 1 PM tomorrow.

My quick thoughts on Sammy: His best music was after leaving (getting fired) from Eddie. Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas were/still awesome. Living it up is also pure enjoyment.

5150 is the epitome (not quintessential) of an awesome album, but the controversy prevails...It was written by eddie and dave for their 1984 follow-up. Sammy simply got the credit.

In interviews, Sammy will say (and I quote him): "I Know I Wrote The Line!!! Summer Nights and your stereo!"

Yeah, sam, what about the rest of it?
