Our First Look At Poison Live This Tour

The Def Lepaprd/Poison tour kicked off Saturday night in New Hampshire. We already know it's the same old setlist. I will say the band sounds pretty good.

Hmmm......Understand it's just the first night, but to me, the only one that seemed excited was Brett, CC not running all over the place (Ego stage doesn't count) just seemed OFF to me.

Keep in mind, the other 3 haven't been out that much and may not be in "touring" shape. They also don't appear to be any younger.

Op8 : yes, this is true, just use to them just running around going crazy, haha, maybe they are pacing themselves!!??

Sounds pretty good! WTF! Just looked up the setlist, exactly the same!!!!!! Not one ☝🏿 deviation! Not one ☝🏿 deep cut! Not one ☝🏿 Song off Hollyweird! Atleast they managed to get Were an American Band and Your Momma dont Dance in, What ithe setlist is missing is Good Ole Squeeze Box! And Thats whatnI like abot you! Unfuckinreal!

I literally say up top - this is the same old set list.

It's time for people to quit expecting anything else from Poison. These are the same 10 songs we're always going to get. The vast majority of people who go to see them only want to hear these songs and do not give two figs about deep cuts or new music. They want to relive their youth for an hour and go on about their lives. The guys in Poison are just doing the same.

I do think CC and Bobby will loosen up a little as the tour goes on, but it's 2017 and not 1987. This is where we are.

At this point, I'm just glad they are back on stage together.

I know when I get out of bed in the morning, I don't move as quickly as thirty years ago. I do care about new music, and hope the tour sparks some bonding and they create some new tunes. That's why I will continue to purchase what the remaining classic rockers put out.

Allison, I know you said it, but I was hoping when I looked it up it wouldn't be EXACTLY the same! Same order! How about dropping to to cover songs and playing love on the rocks or Rockinghorse maybe something off of Holly weird or even crack a smile. Do we really need another drum solo guitar solo bass solo ? On poisons website they said tell us what you want to hear so the majority the people want to hear We're American band? Don't get me wrong I'm happy that together I'm definitely going to see it but I just think they could do a little better !

To quote Metalicca, "Sad but true".

On Saturday, my buddy and I took my two teenage sons and one of their friends to Steel Panther. I wanted to show them "nothin' but a good time and I went all out. It is now Tuesday morning and I am still recovering. My neck is strained from head-banging. My feet hurt from standing for several hours. I have a throbbing bruise on my thigh from when I slipped on someone's spilled beer and hit the banister, but all in all, I think (hope) they enjoyed the show and it will hopefully be a (fond) memory for them when I'm gone.

And talk about getting older. Every year, I take Nick to M3 along with a buddy or two (mine and his). I bought him a ticket again this year, but alas...he can't go. He has to work (oh my) at his job at Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom. It's opening week-end. Sorry Nick, maybe next year, bud!

We've all had to miss concerts due to other obligations. It's called "responsibility"!

Haha, Fletch, Yeh I was going to cross off a band on my bucket list, buy the tickets at pre sale, decent seats, first 10 rows, going to take one of my daughters (In her late 20's) About two weeks before the concert, major back blow out, can't barely get out of bed, can't go to work, emergency room, Chiro and at one point drinking whiskey in my coffee at 5AM cause the pills ain't working.etc, got to get this under control cause I need to go to this concert. The day comes and I'm taking pills and drinking beer, trying to make myself make this concert, lol, alas I just couldn't go, I don't think I would of made the car ride there, then try and get out of the car and then walk. That was like 3 years ago and I'm still pissed about it, Haha.

fletch, it's great that you can do that with your son. My son will be ten in a couple weeks, and he has seen KISS, Rick Springfield, and Bret Michaels solo band, all POINT BLANK! I don't care so much that I hurt like hell the next day (and the day after that, and so on); I just want my son (and my daughters who've also seen KISS, Def Leppard, Poison, Cheap Trick, and BMB) to have great memories of their dad and mom going all out (even if it kills the next day) and having fun with them.
DL and Poison are on a Wednesday night in KC in June, so I did the only responsible thing and took the rest of the week off to recover.

Darktown, that story sucks. I am sorry that happened. Hope your back is better.

Opr8 Thank you, yeh haven't had any relapses in 3 years, got one of those inversion tables and any time something don't feel right I hang out upside down. I took my daughters to a lot of concerts when they were young, they still talk about certain concerts they got to see, man, thinking back they got to see a TON of awesome bands. It's all about making great memories!!

Badland, when do you think this will happen? Do you have a link you could post?

Poison is now a bluegrass cover band, and have been for a while. Ugh.

I'm excited they're back playing together and will see all three bands next month for the second time..But I do agree with them needing to drop the cover songs and solos. Although I do love watching CC play, because I think he's a very underrated rock n roll guitarist, but I'd rather see em play Cry Tough, Love On The Rocks, Back To The Rockin Horse, or Let Me Go To The Show. But most people go for the hits, although the set list is kind of disappointing I'm still pretty excited to see em again, should be a fun time.

So pathetic and predictable that the setlist hasnt changed. I have no desire to see them again. I wish Bobby, CC, and Rikki woulda went out and toured with Brandon Gibbs instead.

01. Look What The Cat Dragged In
02. Ride The Wind
03. Something To Believe In
04. Fallen Angel
05. Unskinny Bop
06. Every Rose Has Its Thorn
07. Talk Dirty To Me
08. Nothin’ But A Good Time

Lets throw out the two covers and "solos". 8 songs by Poison. 8 !?!?!? You can say "hits" all you want. But the 1st song really isn't even a hit. More like a great song that the "FANS" like.

Cry Tough, I Want Action, I Won't Forget You, could also all be classified as Hits from this time frame they are pulling these 8 songs from.

To not play anything past 1990s Flesh n Blood, is kind of sad for this band. Sorry.

Hey, as long as all the moms or grandmas in their 40's & above get to see Bret, they'll be happy!
April 12, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBkallday
GNR summed it up. Love Poison, but he's right ... it's really only 8 songs, and 7 hits. Even as an opener, that's very lean.

But I am very curious to see if they pull out any surprises in the few gigs they have lined up headlining without Def Leppard. Sureley they can't get away with headlining on an 8 original song set list? I know the BMB does it, but still ... the only viable excuse is Bret's medical issue.

Springsteen is 67 and plays over 3 hours a night!!!
