Meet Tëaze

Tëaze will play on the upcoming Kiss Kruise. I have to say, if I was planning an event and I had the cash, I'd book these guys. This looks like a fun show, period. I think just about everyone I know would have a blast watching these guys. What do you think?

A) they lost me at Let's Get Rocked
B) while I'd go see them if they played at the county fair, I'm not going to get all that excited about a G-rated version of Steel Panther, minus the wit, original songs, and top flight musicianship.

These guys will be a great free show - Lots of fun and the band sounds tight. We have a band in our area that is very similar called the Dead Metal Society they put on a great show. For these type of bands the singer makes or breaks the band. I have seen others that truly sucked because the singer did not have the range for all of the covers but Teaze does not seem to have that problem.

What Shawn said 100%. There's a couple of really good vocalists within this band.
I don't care if you throw EVH together with Billy Sheehan and John Bonham. If you put the 2018 version of Vince Neal at the mike, it ain't happening.

This coming from a lifetime guitarist. The ONLY people in a crowd the appreciate incredibally gifted musicians are other musicians. If they're cute like EVH circa 1980, girls will love them too, but Eddie could've been play a f*cking tuba and those said girls (and some selective dudes) would still "love them". Lol 😂

Geezus! What a sh*t way to have my life flash before me!

Still, Shawn makes a valid point ... the singer is key to how palatable an excercize in Metal mediocrity such as this can possibly be.

And Gogmagog, couldn’t have said it better myself ... You nailed what I was thinking when watching the clips ... “Steel Panther minus the wit and original songs ...”, which is a brutal assessment when you consider Stell Panther aren’t funny.

@MB I bet you have heard of this band but I just stumbled across them - Bonfire from Germany they have a new covers album out that got my attention and then I dug into their catalog - well worth the listen.

Indeed, Shawn, I’ve got ALL of BONFIRE’s stuff including their new album of covers!

I particularly LOVE their cover of Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger”! SOOOOO KICK A*S!!!

Thing is, Steel Panther write original songs. But both bands seem to be celebrating metal, so that is good as far as I am concerned (the Outfield cover had me scratching my head, but I love them too . . . right, Metalboy!?). So I don't think the comparisons are accurate. One is a parody band that loves metal; the other is a cover band that loves metal (and needs to ditch the 'hairspray' thing if they don't want to be seen as aping a band that is doing it a bit better and bit more originally) and parodies the bands they love, lovingly it seems.

I bet this band, along with a host of others, would be a good night out at a local club. It is basically designed to get you singing along. Another not so bad thing.

But comparable to Steel Panther (whether or not you like them)? Not even close.
