If the last few "Ratt" shows have been amazing. Then the Stephen pukefest of a solo show I saw this summer must've been phenomenal. He wasn't as bad as recent YouTube videos when I saw him, but the dude had no energy, was out of breath every 30 seconds, and his voice got steadily worse as the show went on.

But in all seriousness, Stephen probably needs to get some help. I know the whole "bad knee" excuse will work for some people, but mixing pills and alcohol is a warning sign of serious addiction. Most of these opiate drug addictions actually come from serious injuries to begin with. Doesn't look like he's taking care of himself, so he probably needs to come off the road for a while, recover, and get back to normal, I know it's easier said than done, but being in a touring rock band, everyone is enabling you. Between the fans that refuse to believe he's in bad shape, to the band for putting up with it, and the promoters/management that keep them playing shows..its all enabling. But this is just what it seems like to me so I can only speculate.

Dj, you aren't speculating. You are basing your opinion on pretty well laid out evidence.

I won't rehash my seemingly weekly diatribes on this. But I will add a new wrinkle. Here it is: what if the media stopped covering him and his band? Full stop. Pen an open letter to him and Croucier if you wish. But stop covering him after that. Suck the oxygen out of the balloon that is, by all accounts, going to pop. Stop--media, fans, posters, haters, whoever--contributing to the skid until he steps up. And then do it again when he does it again (he has before).

I know, I know. That is unfair to the rest of the band. Well, you know what? I would rather see a Ratt that is led by someone who cares about himself and his fans, and rather talk about that, than contribute to the decline (in my own small way) anymore. So you know what? No more comments on here about Pearcy from me. Same with Neil. [I read this before I read the Neil post above, so I am holding to that as of now.]

As for his band, jump ship. You all have talent. Find another way to make a living. But don't enable this. It is just sad.
