KISS To Tour Early Next Year

I can't believe we're talking about 2019 tours already, but here we are. Paul Stanley was on CNBC's Squawk Box on Friday. During his interview, he said KISS will embark on a major tour at the beginning of 2019. All Paul would say is that it will be the "biggest tour" the band has done and then provided no other details. So is this it? The official beginning of the end for KISS as a touring act? Time will tell I guess.

I think you are off base, Stu. It is going to be, after this tour, "KISS Alive XXXX: Featuring former members of Guns n' Roses, Great White, Dokken, and LA Guns."

Only way I would ever see them again live was if Ace and Peter were in the line-up. Otherwise, I don't care.

I think we all know what "farewell tour" means with KISS. Even though I've been very critical of them I always remember that Scorpions and Judas Priest had their "farewell tours" and I saw Priest live recently well after their "farewell tour". But even though im not the biggest KISS fan and im not a fan of a lot of things Gene Simmons has said and done, they are still one of those bucket list bands I have yet to see. I've heard from several people from several different tours that they are a must see band and I hope I get the chance to see em. Would be cool if Ace could do the tour, if not select shows if this is after all the last time.

Let's think about this. Kiss already did the farewell tour thing. (About a dozen tours ago) The Who have been on a farewell tour since 1982. Elton John is about to embark on a 3 year farewell tour. Ozzy just started his "No More Tours" (for the second time) Sabbath finished their farewell tour and Tony Iommi is already making noise about "one off" shows. G&R is into year 3 of "not in this lifetime " tour. Hell froze over for the Eagles in like 1994, and they've been at it ever since. I'd bet it's only a matter of time until the Crue does some residencies in Vegas (technically not a tour). I personally think it's not just the incredibly lucrative payday. ( although it does sell shit tons of tickets when fans think this is the last time to see you) Face it. All these mentioned bands could wipe their asses with Benjamins if they so desired. I think it's also the rush and adoration of arenas full of people loving you and what you do. Those 2 allures go a helluva long way in squashing egotistical beefs that every band runs into after success enters the picture. And retirement is great for a while. But when you're used to being gone 8 months out of the year, what the hell are you gonna do after about a year of drizzling around the house? Lol More power to all of them. Do what ya know and do it till ya drop 🤘

Gary, nice summation! It would be difficult to no longer do what you do, especially if you love the fans (though some may just love the cash). One of my friends who is a general surgeon gave me the best compliment I've ever received. He said he could see me working until in my 70's, finishing my last case, talking to the family, heading to the parking lot, saying,"That was a great case." And dropping over dead. What a perfect ending. We all laugh about the non-stop farewell tours, but it would be really hard to give it up.
Hope everyone has an awesome day.

“... could wipe their a*ses with Benjamins if they so desired.”

Hahaha!!!, Gary! Once again, not only the f*nniest Gary in Comments but one of the funniest people I’ve ever known! Or feel like I know, haha!!

Also, great idea of Iommi’s to do one offs, as well as expanding that concept to other bands as you and others have mentioned. Think Zeppelin Reunion Show in 2007 at London’s 02 Arena.
