'Crazy From The Heat' (And Monday)
I saw Tommy Lee feuded with his son Brandon on Instagram for Father's Day. That's pretty sad. Laura Bush penned an op-ed about the Trump policy of ripping kids from their parents at the border. That's even sadder. You can't request asylum until you are into a country's border. To then snatch a tiny child and shove it into a tent in 100+ Texas heat alone? Monstrous.
I worked all weekend on various projects. I don't think I've had my music on in four straight days. I went heads down at my desk last Wednesday, just trying to slam some stuff out. I popped on Def Leppard's Hysteria and just got some stuff done. That's always my work go to when I need to focus. I think it's because I know the album so well, I just sort of make it background noise at this point instead of active listening.I live in a border state. I appreciate the need to enforce and protect our international boundaries, but this zero-tolerance policy is cruel. It is immoral. And it breaks my heart.https://t.co/he1uw1E96A

Since I'll be setting up hundreds of chairs and tables for today, maybe I'll pop on music for everyone to enjoy while work. "Crazy From The Heat" seems like a good plan! Here's something random: a video for the casting call of the "Crazy From The Heat" video clip:
And the actual clip, of course:

In 2014 while Obama was President . Why is it such a hot topic now? The media loves every second of this!
Most kids only ask that their parents be there for them while they are growing up, spend time with them, show an interest in their lives (ball games, birthdays,etc.). If he missed out on that stuff because he was too busy partying, then that would suck. Being a rock star doesn't mean you shouldn't still be there for your kids.
And nice shot on Pammie, spoiling the boys with stuff. Typical complaint. I hear it all the time too.
He should keep his family's issues private, but I guess that's just my two cents. And don't defend him just because you like his music. You know who I am talking about.
Given that I generally stay out of politics on this page, I will keep this simple: please point to the specific law, and the specific lines therein, where it states that children need to be separated from their parents. If there are these sorts of specifics, so be it. That provides ground for both sides to argue about keep/not keeping, revising/not revising, the law as it stands. If there are not, then it is a policy meant to lay out how the law will be enforced. And _policy_ decisions emanate from the those who are in charge of enforcing _laws_ at any given time. Fairly simple. One need not be a partisan for either side when asking people to keep the terms of the argument clear/precise.
I hear you, Rita (hello, by the way). It is hard to defend a person like Lee. I suspect he is hurting and feels that lashing out is a healthy tonic for what ails him. Sadly, it is not. At the same time, posting a picture of your dad after you knocked him out does nothing positive. If anything, the son seems to have learned quite a bit about how to deal with anger from his dad. Which is also a shame.
The fact that kids get caught in the middle of this sort of bitterness, and then learn from it, appalls me. Then again, I have no kids (never wanted them, even if I enjoy having them around when hanging out with family and friends) and have thus spared myself the complexities parents face. So I recognize I speak from a rather protected place.
Said it before, but I really feel bad for that family. Lots of hurt and anger on both sides. Hope they can sort it out and heal at some point.
Don't try to break in to this country & not expect repercussions. How about just don't try to break in to America? Oh, & Allyson? Any idea who implemented that policy of separating illegal alien children from their illegal alien parents? William Jefferson Clinton. Barack Obama didn't seem to have an issue with enforcing it either. But you want to blame Trump. How Hypocritical.
I have another suggestion, probably equally unpopular with you. Leave your leftist politics out of things. Get back to talking about what you originally built this site on, & it's name... "BRING BACK GLAM"....
One of the hugest glam events happened this weekend & not a peep about it here!
Punky Meadows & Frank DiMino of Glam Legends ANGEL are out on tour, & at their Friday gig in Las Vegas, they were joined onstage by Angel Keyboard wizard Gregg Giuffria for the first time in 35 years!
Here: I captured it on video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oItbYFIbWA0
As I’ve stated before, I call it like I see it. I don’t lean right or left and cherry pick policy based on simple common sense.
And I can tell you right now, you guys can’t win this one. Why? Because, no matter how you slice it, it’s the optics. My personal view has nothing to do with it and I assure you, it’s way more radical than your position.
The problem is, as you know, Trump is jailing 8 month olds and 1 year olds who’s screams for their mamas echo throughout the cages of a former Walmart and other such makeshift facilities.
As if that isn’t bad enough, he can change it all with a stroke of a pen but is refusing to do as leverage for the wall, actually something I personally want to see built more than anyone. In fact, I think we should have as many of the able bodied Mexicans and others as humanly possible who came here illegally actually build the wall for us.
Unfortunately, my plan is not being considered. Even Senator Ted Cruz, son of one of the Kennedy assassins and extreme Right Wing Republican, as well as numerous fellow Republicans are against Trump on this one.
So, I suggest you forget this problem since it will get resolved fairly quickly or you are going to see your party quickly find itself on the losing end of elections in both 2018 and 2020!
And I saw Giuffria open for Foreigner back in 84-85. Craig Goldy was amazing.
p.s. Now that I got that out of the way, Politics ARE a part of Rock & Roll, Ace! Otherwise, you boyz wouldn’t be commenting on it. Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Ramones (Johnny was a Republican, FYI), The Sex Pistols, The Clash, etc. — you know, “irrelevant” performers like that, ALL embraced it as a part of their music.
WARNING: graphic content is about the follow. One day, I was investigating a father for sexually assaulting his 6yo daughter. The father actually admitted to the allegations fairly easily and quickly. And, as I was interviewing him, he asked me somewhat rhetorically, "You wanna know why I am the way that I am? Child Protective Services made me who I am". Taken aback, I inquired what he meant by this statement. He continued, "You obviously have my file, you know that I was involved with CPS. You know that I was in "the system". Why don't you read it?"
I told the father that I had, indeed, read his file, but nothing significant jumped out at me. He was put into residential treatment after a few failed foster care placements because his mother had mental health and D/A problems. I asked for some insight or clarification.
He said, "Well, let me tell you what the government did to me." I grew up with my mom. Yes, she was bi-polar and she used drugs. The County started looking into my situation when I was about 6 years old. A few times, I stayed with relatives while my mom got treatment but for the most part, there was nothing [significant] to keep my case open and active".
"Throughout my schooling, the [bitch] Guidance Counselor would make referrals for lots of different reasons. She kept insisting that CPS do something. The last referral she made was when I was about 12yo. I guess the County was tired of getting referrals, so they put me in foster care. I left my friends, my family, my bedroom (video games) and my dog. But, what CPS didn't understand is that by the time I was 12yo, I knew when my mom was acting "not right" and I knew how to avoid her. I didn't need CPS at that time. I would just stay with a friend in the same trailer park. My friend's mom treated me well.
He continued, "I thought that if I just make enough problems in foster care, that I would be sent home, but it obviously didn't happen that way". After a few foster homes, I was put in [residential treatment facility-name redacted]. I was 12 or 13 years old when I went there and stayed there until my 18th birthday.
This man started to tear up as he began to tell me about his "treatment" in the residential facility. He said that part of the "initiation" was that the older boys would take the new, younger boys into the woods and have sex with them. From almost the first day I was at that place, I was raped repeatedly. I had every size dick in my ass and every color cock in my mouth." Guess what, Mr. G? after a while, I started to have sex with the younger kids coming into the program. I initiated them. That treatment facility made me a rapist and CPS placed me there. Now you're wondering why I am the way that I am?"
That day, I had to re-think almost everything that I have been taught and analyze the harsh ways that the (sometimes unwittingly) Government, OUR Government, treats its most vulnerable populations. Call me a libtard snowflake but nothing chaps my ass more that when some ignoramus spouts off about "do the crime, do the time" bullshit. Thank god there are people out there trying to bring about better changes and educating the public about the harsh realities of tough on crime legislation and the Neanderthal thinking those laws cater to. Bill Clinton, BTW, was one of the worst offenders with his 1994 crime bill. And, that dotard Jeff Sessions is actively pushing this current protocol.
I can't believe I will hashtag this, but "#yougokimkardashian.
There are NO LAWS requiring children to be separated from their parents. Obama didn't do it. Neither did Bush 43. Or Clinton.
This "zero tolerance" practice is on Trump.
And if he and the rest of his cabal were so proud of the policy, they should own it instead of lying, pointing blame and trying to dodge the issue by banning cameras in the concentration camps and tent cities and sending spokespeople out, attempting to use the Bible and fake Christianity as a shield.
@Fletch I was waiting I knew you would provide some great insight to situations like this-You spoke to my concern of what would be going on in these holding facilities.
I gotta be honest I don't think our borders should be wide open but this is a human rights issue - I haven't read all the where to's or where for's but putting children in danger no matter where they are from bothers me.
From a national security standpoint I want to slam the door on illegal immigration because of the terrorist threat that is real and does exist - our brethren to the south just want a better life and I get it but go through the proper channels.
