An Interesting Story About An Aerosmith Mega Hit

Here's a little piece of quality journalism about "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing," the Aerosmith hit from the movie Armageddon. The song is probably my least favorite Aerosmith track, but I'm a sucker for behind-the-song stories. This is worth a read.

Whatever ai think of that song, (I still hate it with a deep burning passion), that really is a very interesting article that gives some cool insight into both the pop music and movie business.

Pretty much verbatim what my bud Bob said. Lol

Yeah, Gary, that's cuz you and I are two examples of the ones mentioned in the article who listened to "Rocks" and drank bong water. :)

That would be a 100% correct assumption bud 😂😂

I could care less about that song or Aerosmith these days. When I need a fix of the band, I tend to go back before _Permanent Vacation_ if I don't want to get depressed.

That said, I think Bob and Gary should have a radio call-in show. You could call it "Bong Rocks."

Him, I do actually do an Internet radio show from time to time on my buddy's private server. It's just a small group who tunes in and we have a ball. I play all kinds of different music, tell some stories about the bands and songs, and I definitely get high through the whole thing. It's much fun.

If only all of us were lucky enough to get a listen, Bob. I bet it is great. No chance you will share, is there?

Him, send an email to badbobsd@gmail.com, and I'll give you more info. Just to let you know up front, when I say all kinds of music, I really do mean that. The show I did yesterday found me playing live Motley crue and Accept along side John Coltrane, Isaac Hayes, and Jonny Winter. depending on how the mood and the weed hits me, I've also been known to play Indian ragas and some really obscure psychedelic stuff from the 60's, and even old blues and jazz recordings from the 20's. all I'm saying is that it bears much more resemblance to the freeform days of FM radio than the typical hard rock show that you would imagine that a regular poster to BBG would do.

Appreciate the offer, Bob. I just might do that. And, as some of my posts have suggested, I have a far wider range of musical interests than just metal (even if that remains my primary love). I really do find it interesting to find interesting music, wherever it might be. And, yes, there are some genres I tend not to like. But that is no slam on them. If anything, that is just a suggestion that I need to be a bit more open-minded!

For those who might be interested, I did recently start recognizing that I enjoy listening to the soundtracks for television shows (well, certain television shows). And I thought: why not buy the soundtrack if I enjoy it? So I have. I purchased the soundtracks to Altered Carbon (primarily atmospheric, though it does have a trippy cover of Zombie's "More Human Than Human"), Westworld (I love how they work in rock songs, and also enjoy how they use music to set up place and characters), and Babylon Berlin (fitting for the noir style of the show and featuring the input of Bryan Ferry no less!). If any of you are interested in those shows or those descriptions, I urge you to give them a listen.

Again, thanks Bob. That is mighty kind of you. Sounds like your show would be a great time.
