Tempt Will Carry The Torch Of Glam

Tempt, who made a name for themselves with a great Def Leppard cover, is now out with a new single called "Roses." You can buy it now on iTunes or on Amazon by clicking the image to the left. Great Glam for your Monday.

I'm going to spend my morning wishing I wasn't in pointless meetings and trying to get over horrific back pain. Each day, my back pain seems to get a little worse. I'm pretty good at just keeping on with life while dealing with it (it's been a years-long issue) but today it is really bad. Ugh. #Monday

This sounds more like that really early 80's AOR FM rock that had a slight edge to it, but not so much of an edge that it would offend the 20 somethings that were making the slow, yet inevitable move from AM radio to FM. I'm talking that stuff that came out between about '79 and '81. good for these guys for trying to bring back a sound and owning it, but that very specific sound didn't do much for me when it was new, so I am having trouble getting into it now.

They are entering a brutal business with a very specific sort of sound. What does it take to stand out nowadays? Don't ask me. As Ozzy said, I don't know. Many bands I thought would be huge weren't. Some that I thought had no chance made millions.

Doesn't their sound check the boxes for many people who like this site? Sure thing. But that fact doesn't mean that they will have the thrust to survive as a band.

I wish them well. I just wonder about how viable they are in a market like this.

Great band ... Love the whole 80’s Retro AOR trip ... Hope to see ‘em in NYC soon.

p.s. Either these guys are independently wealthy or they know to keep their day jobs as they don’t play much and if they do, it’s pretty much confined to the NYC area.
