Paul Stanley Keeps It Real

KISS just announced their "farewell" tour. Now Paul Stanley is admitting his voice isn't as good as it was in the past - and telling fans to listen to the old records if they don't like it. Thing is, people age and that includes the vocal chords. So I don't expect singers to keep the same range as time marches on. So good for Paul. I like more honesty from bands. Instead of saying this will be "the best ever" - just admit it will be good... but different.

Paul Stanley has written and/or played on many of my all time favourite songs. He always comes across as intelligent, charming and calculated.

That being said, he is totally full of shit here::

The KISS "Farewell" tour in 2000 was NEVER advertised a "farewell to the original lineup".

Their official stance was "We want to quit while we can still deliver the show we are known for".

Well guess what? Now it is 2018 all anyone can talk about is how trashed Paul's voice is, and they certainly are NOT giving the performances that deliver on the reputation they built up between 1974-1997.

Would have been nice to see them stick with their promise 18 years ago, rather than tarnish KISS' legacy with the shitshow that has transpired since their actual Farewell tour.

... and all of this passive-aggressive bickering between Grandpa Munster and Phyllis Dyller in the press is embarrassing. You guys are pushing 70, show some class.

I wanted to marry Paul Stanley when I was 13. I cried when I found out he was dating Donna Dixon. I lost out on a whole summer of fun because my friends told me I talk about KISS too much so I told them our friendship was over. That's how much of a huge fan I was.

But I still have zero desire to see their show unless Ace and Peter are there.

Saw the new dudes when they toured with Crue. Not the same. No thanks.

And I might add that seeing the original members live for the first time in 1996 was the highlight of all concert highlights for me. Nothing will ever surpass the feeling of witnessing the amazing spectacle of Ace, Paul and Gene lined up in a row, moving in tandem at the end of Deuce.

That never got old, no matter how many shows I saw. And there was at least 15. Maybe 20.

And I would still lose it, all these years later, if Ace was there to do that again. For old times sake.

Rita: ...and I don't mean this disrespectfully, but your above comments are why Mb! wants to marry you; not me. peace/rock on!
