Open Thread: Best of 2019

My household is fighting some bugs this weekend, so things are low key and out of sync. I wanted to get my best of the year list ready this weekend but so far, no dice. So let's do things a little differently this year. Here is an open thread for you to post your choices for the best albums of 2019. Extra credit if you want to name the best show you attended, too.

Some of our favorites like Tesla, Queensryche, L.A. Guns and Whitesnake all released new work in 2019. Crazy Lixx, Slipknot, Tool, Alice Cooper and Steel Panther put out amazing releases. Pink Floyd dropped a massive new greatest hits set with previously unreleased tracks, too. Plus so many other albums and bands in between. All in all, 2019 was a strong year for metal. So what did you like? What did you hate? Share in the comments section below!

Best news from 2019...announcement of original lineup BulletBoys reunion tour AND album. This alone should make for a great 2020.

Steel Panther did not put out an amazing release, their last two have been mediocre. The Hangmen, Tom Keifer Band and D-A-D on the other hand all released great albums!

Well ... didn't listen to any “new” rock or glam music, so will focus on the shows.

Stadium show: Rammstein in Moscow ... simply amazing!

Festival: Louder than Life in Louisville, GNR rocked for 3 hours.

Arena show: Trans Siberian Orchestra in Cincinnati. We were in the fifth row floor by the aisle, and both my young kids got a guitar pick from Joel Hoekstra!

Club show: maybe tonight! RATT at Bogarts in Cincy. Awesome show. Also every cover band I saw in Louisville including that Arena Rock Show, Departure, Velcro Pygmies, Hairbangers Ball and Blizzard of Ozzy!

It’s been another really good year for concerts. Looking forward to 2020!

Biggest disappointment of 2019:

Lovekillers featuring Tony Harnell. I wanted so badly to like that one.

This is a sad state of affairs for music today. So only 2 ppl on this site buy actual cds and listen to them, from front to back??? Yet ppl wonder why bands dont stay together with all original members. I guess its just easier sometimes these days to try and be like everyone else. As for me, ill keep buying cds and listening to them the way they were meant to be enjoyed! Instead of just listening to 2 or 3 songs off of Spotify or Apple Music(which i gladly have and pay for btw). Smfh
