'The Dirt' Trailer Is Out Today

Update - here's the full trailer. It looks awesome!

For now, here's a teaser of The Dirt trailer. The Dirt debuts on Netflix March 22 and I cannot wait. One of my favorite books of all time.

Agreed Allyson. I’d put The Dirt in my top 3 favorite books also. Let’s hope the movie can stay in the same zip code as the book. 👍

I’ll eat my Mick Mars official Slash knockoff top hat if this is actually good.

Yet again, even if it’s not, either way, it will certainly be amusing to watch.

The Dirt is a great book, and this should be a great movie, can't wait.

Question. Did Mick ever wear shirts with logos or writing on them?

The full trailer actually looks pretty damn good!

I just may be eating that hat Mars gave Sixx to give DJ As*hat after all!

I love The Dirt and have been half expecting the movie to be a dud. I mean, really, how can a 2 hour movie do any sort of justice to that story? But that trailer is really good and has given me hope. Can't wait to watch it!

I'm really hoping its great, but I am worried. I just aint sure about the casting. The dude hwo plays Vince better be the best actor of the bunch, because when his daughter dies in the book it gets me right in the feels every time.

The trailer suggests a lot of pluses and minuses. So I defer until I see it.

As Metalboy! said, it _should_ be amusing either way. As steverox opined, it _should_ be a great movie. The emphasis is necessary in both cases. I hope those darn narration interludes are trailer-only. That sort of direction (or misdirection) has ruined far better movies when initially released. And the acting will obviously be an issue to consider given how much we know about the great Crue. No one wants a poorly performed cover-band-of-a-movie given how much we have lived through the band's highs and lows.

But I will watch with an open mind. I owe them that. And the price is certainly right, either way it goes.

Indeed, HIM! You make a good point. Leaning on too much narration has ruined or at the very least lowered the impact of many a movie that is just okay as opposed to being great had it been done without it.

Case in point ... Most Scorsese flicks are too narration heavy as he has relied on the device way too much as a crutch for decades.

Wasn't even thinking about Scorsese. But you are right on that point, though some of it works and some of it doesn't. I was thinking about how films like Blade Runner and Dark City (okay, that one isn't a classic) were ruined in their initial theatrical releases by telegraphing huge parts of the story . . . points that didn't need to be explained if you watched the actual movie. Thankfully, in both (and other) cases, later releases rectified the error. Even if I already knew what was going to happen, it felt cleaner and less demeaning to me as a viewer.
