Maybe We Were All Wrong
Sunday, February 24, 2019 at 09:21AM
I thought for sure Motley Crue would perform live at the Whisky A Go-Go or on a late night show to promote their new music and The Dirt movie. I guess I was wrong. It seems unreal they wouldn't at minimum do a television performance, but I guess they were all really serious about never playing together again (the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame excluded, because if they get in I know they will perform then).
Just about everyone I know thought Motley would do some concerts again. Maybe we're all just jaded. Or we've watched KISS for too long.

@Bk well said man. They truly were the kings of the genre (and the strip), and lived lives that Satan is probably jealous of. Lol 🤟
There’s a simple reason why they’re not performing right now.
It’s simply because Neil is too damned fat right now!
If they ARE going to perform again, it won’t be until Neil peels off the fat suit a la Elvis in 1967 who went through an aggressive weight loss program (read “starved”) in order to look svelte before his legendary “Elvis ‘67 Comeback Special”.
Though Neil will never be svelte again (he doesn't have the commitment, discipline or self worth to do what Elvis did) like he looked at the US Festival ‘83, he could at least get back to the weight he was circa 2007.
Even though it won’t be easy for him as it would be for others because he’s turned into such a lard a+s, he must do it to save whatever semblance of artistic integrity he ever had if he ever did have it to begin with.
Regardless of Neil letting himself go the way he has, Crüe deserve kudos for letting Bob Rock work his magic on their new songs because if “The Dirt” title track is any indication, their cover of Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” and the other two new tracks are sure to be right up there with some of their better material from “Dr. Feelgood” back.
After hearing their new song “The Dirt” and watching the trailer(s), I am counting the days ‘til March 22nd!
But I agree with you, Bkallday. I hope they keep things the way they are. They are legends with nothing left to prove and a history that will outlive us all.
I think most of us on this site love them. I surely don't know many who hate them. I do, however, know more than a couple of people who are more "passerby" fans who glommed on during the Dr. Feelgood days and don't care for much before or after. They are a variation on the fans of Metallica who, when you ask about their favorites, can only really recall the Black Album.
