Nickelback Teases Concert Announcement
There is a countdown clock on Nickelback.com right now that ends Tuesday morning. The band is teasing a tour in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the album All The Right Reasons. That is my favorite album by the band. While most people love to mock Nickelback because that is trendy, All The Right Reasons has some really great songs. Nickelback is a very fun live show, too. I would be interested in going to a show if they make a stop close by and the ticket prices are not bananas. Below is a teaser video for the tour announcement.
Don't know songs from All The Right Reasons? Here's one of my favorite tracks: "Side Of A Bullet"

Kroeger seems to have the right attitude about all the hate, and also seems to be a well-meaning and balanced sort of fellow. He is also rich, which is more than I can say for myself!
Pump-up song, Crued? Careful. But that is an easy one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8L6KGuTr9TI. Nothing makes my strategic approach to Bingo feel more alive or rewarding. NOTHING!!!
I feel like its always the Bro Country, Mumford & Sons, or those that think Nickelback is too polished of band crowds that dog them.
Do you want me to buy you a walker with bandanas tied around the legs kinda like steven tyler's mic stand?
Between meals consisting of vanilla pudding and fruit cocktail, I need to get my motor running before the next race around the facility (one smoking hot chick looks exactly like Beatrice Arthur!).
So its got to be Anne Murray, Christopher Cross, Air Supply, or good ole Judy to get my heart to hardline rather than flatline.

Switching gears . . .
Metalboy!, I think Overkill fits the bill wonderfully. I'd go with their one almost breakthrough song, "In Union We Stand."

Switching lanes . . .
I think the issue is much more basic, GNR. They are successful and they rock . . . and they encroach on the turf of the sacred (according to some). In my younger days, I was a whole lot more dismissive of bands that didn't 'fit' what I thought X or Y should be. Only as I grew older, did I come to appreciate what they brought to the table (even if I still didn't enjoy them . . . which is on me, not them or their fans). Rock, metal, glam, whatever . . . they exist on a spectrum. Loyalists hate bands that encroach on their turf. That's the thing, that is all that it is, their turf.
I don't like Hagar's music. But I would love to meet him. And still struggle to carve out a spot in my playlist for Poison. So what? I'd like to think I am open-minded enough to say "that isn't for me" and move on. Or, in the case of Devin Townsend (another acquired taste), step back and think about it and then say: "Woah, I misjudged Kroeger. He's cool." There is space for all of it. And, even then, we can still pick our spots and defend our choices. Regardless, we all love music and it sustains us: pumping iron, chasing old women around the nursing home, or even making dinner for our families. We pick the soundtrack because it is the soundtrack that we pick. That is circular. But it also makes a lot of sense.

Back to bingo. My trigger finger is acting up!
And, switching gears (speaking of which, show me another thread in the entire nation, if not the world, where Overkill and Air Supply are uttered in the same breath!), check out Overkill’s cover of The Dead Boys’ “Sonic Reducer”. Also, watch the Stiv Bators documentary, “Stiv: No Compromise, No Regrets”, about the iconic singer’s crazy life!
You haven’t lived until you’ve experienced a Sedaka mosh pit, brutality at it’s finest!!!
