Oni Logan To Sing For Lynch Mob

Oni Logan will sing for Lynch Mob on the upcoming Monsters of Rock Cruise. This is interesting because Oni hasn't been in Lynch Mob for a minute. The band doesn't have a "permanent lineup" anymore. So I guess we will see where this goes. Maybe nowhere. But Oni is the best person to front Lynch Mob. Monsters of Rock Cruise sails February 8 - 13. Tesla and Krokus will headline.

Agreed, Allyson. This could definitely rock! 🤘🏼

This is great news. I just played the "Rebel" record from 2015 this weekend. I feel like those 2 are similar to the Dio/Iommi relationship. They weren't always teamed up, but when they were they created great material every time. Pumped.

I met Logan on a Monster’s of Rock Cruise several years ago.

We had a great conversation on the shuttle boat to the island day excursion. What a nice guy and humble soul.

I know he’s wrestled with his demons over the years but I hope he can keep it together to keep it going with Lynch Mob.

He is, after all, the definitive voice of that band, as he is the original singer, first appearing on their smash album, “Wicked Sensation”, the title track, and all the other killer songs on it.

Wishing you much success, Oni, in 2020 and beyond!

Metalboy!, that is the always the question with Logan: "I know he’s wrestled with his demons over the years but I hope he can keep it together to keep it going with Lynch Mob" Can . . . he . . . keep . . . it . . . together? His history suggests otherwise, though I wouldn't be the one to root against him.

And, not to burst anyone's bubble, but Lynch is on record saying this a one-off thing and that Freeman is still the singer on the next album.

Him,

That’s too bad. I think Freeman is the weak link in Last in Line. Generic voice, banal, cliched lyrics. If you can’t get Logan , i would have loved to have seen Robert Mason on vocals. Great vocalist and that second Mob album is very underrated

I agree with you, Basileus. I'd pick Mason over Freeman too. But he is busy with Warrant. That said, I don't think all the fault falls at Freeman's feet. He is a decent enough singer (which is why I completely understand your "generic" comment). He is fine in Last in Line. He was good when I saw him in Raiding the Rock Vault. He won't ever be on a top ten list. But he is a session player who has made a career out of doing what he loves. So, good for him.

The lyric thing is an issue, and I agree with you on it. Logan can write. He can sing. But other LM albums have featured multiple writers and been good, so-so, and meh. So that isn't really Freeman's fault either. I think that is really a Lynch issue. He is too scattered, too involved in too many projects, to make a concerted effort to focus on one band at one time. That said, I also understand that there are creative and financial issues at play. But Lynch, post-Dokken, never really sat still for long enough. And, in today's market, it doesn't really matter. Which is a shame.
