Too bad they can’t seem to get it back together ... That “Infestation” line-up with Cavazo including Croucier killed it, as I witnessed it POINT BLANK when they headlined M3 at the Frank Gehry designed Merriweather Post Pavilion (1967 - his first building!)!
Imagine them with classic line-up Cinderella, L.A. Guns, Skid Row and KIX (I know, I know - the latter two will NEVER happen) ...
p.s. It sure would be nice if this included the EP with “Walkin’ The Dog”, etc. I wonder what bonus tracks will be included.
If you watch a youtube video of the last show which was the first one without Chris Sanders, it just sounds off, no matter how well Jordan Ziff plays (and he's a damn good guitarist). He is trying his hardest to make up for the one guitar missing, it's a valiant effort, but the overall sound is just not quite there.
Plus you really can't do the second half of the solo to Round and Round justice with only one guitar!
Would I go see RATT with only one guitarist ... yes I probably would. I love the songs. But the show would be much more sonically pleasing and complete with two guitars.
First three CDs: single edits. Next CD: unplugged single. Final CD: "Nobody Rides for Free" (never heard that one before . . . giggle) and two "Ratt Fonic" mixes of the same song, though one is the 'radio' and one is the 'monster' mix. Oooh. What changes will we hear?
Clearly, this isn't a lovingly curated set of interesting odds and ends from the band. Not that the cover would suggest it was going to be that sort of thing. This is the sort of 'greatest hits' compilation that used to end up in the bin at truck stops, those 'cut out' ones that looked like a robot took a bite out of them.
Say what you will about Ratt LLC these days, but one thing is certain: Pearcy has got the glue to glue it.
