Tommy Lee Announces New Music

Tommy Lee will release two new songs tomorrow. He made the announcement with a short video on Twitter. I guess the music on the snippet is part of one song and it does not sound like Motley Crue to me. I think this is more dance/EDM type stuff. We will know more tomorrow I guess.

Don't get your hopes up. I feel like that phrase should just be the slogan of 2020 at this point.

Dude is one of the most powerful, spot on rock drummers on planet Earth.Unfortunately, he’s also 58 (but soon to hit 19 in his own mind). I feel he’s also about to find out tomorrow that when he’s not behind the Motley monicker, where 15,000 people are held captive in an arena, and w/o the Motley sponsored sideshow drum kit, pyro, lights, and prepaid fans, just how popular his techno/dubstep/EDM shit actually is with the people who’ve paid his way to ram this kind of stuff up their asses during a Motley show. But that’s the cool thing about being rich and famous. It allows you to force your “artistic preferences” out there amongst the masses. More power to ya T-Bone. You do you. You’ll always be one cool mofo to your core people like myself and all the folks here, regardless of the Peter Pan syndrome. 🤟

Dunno why Lee can’t just rock with some amazing special guests and put out a REAL Rock & Roll album ...

p.s. Obviously not Funny Gary commenting above ...

Tommy is Tommy, Gary (funny or unfunny). But the guy is a creep. He is a Neanderthal and a prima donna. How does a person pull that off? One could go on and on about his approach to things, to fans, to women, etc.

When it comes down to it, you also got another thing right: he is a talented drummer who dabbles in his passions because he can, and because he was in one of the biggest bands of the 80s. I don't begrudge him any of that. How many metal musicians are now painters and poets, free to indulge their interests because . . . well, again, because they can.

Heck, I thought he was the bee's knees when I was a kid. Then I grew up. Thing is, he didn't.

With Lee, EDM stands for "Emotionally Deluded Musician."

Not sure you’re a100% correct on Lee’s Neanderthalness, HIM ...

I have it on good authority from those in the know as well as from my own personal experience, ever since that punch down with his son, he’s cooled his jets and has been in therapy ever since ...

See Coachella photos showing him attending with same son(s) and also an incredible video short featuring him (not HIM - yet, haha!!) from the “What It Means To Be An Artist” series.

Though he can never be forgiven for his dodo head maneuvers in the past (wifebeating is certainly more aggressions than the term “dodo head” implies) ...

But he’s still a dodo head in a sense for at least two things ...

(1) Refusing to do photo ops with fans (why not do it for free, if you don’t like the paid backstage meet and greets. Just think of all of those “fans with the band” shots that would be SO much better with him in them.

(2) Putting our glorified Neo-Industrial Rave Disco music tracks instead of Rock & Roll!

First and foremost - I need to stop seeing the google ads of the donate a "smile" fund on this site. It's like watching that dog shelter Sarah McLachlan commercial...

Secondy - Tommy, Tommy, Tommy...I'll steal a quote/joke from Chris Rock:
"You don’t want to be the old guy in the club. You know who I’m talking about. Every club you go into, there’s always some old guy. He ain’t really old, just a little too old to be in the club."

Thirdly - I'll steal an observation from George Carlin:" You ain't cool! You're fucking chilly! And chilly ain't never been cool!"

See next post ... What is Lee thinkin’?

Where, oh, where is the Rock & Roll Heart?

Metalboy!, I will take you at your word (I always do, save for when it comes to sending me my prize?!?!). If that tragic situation gave him some insight, that is a great thing. As a person who had/has soured on Lee over the years, that was still painful to watch.

I have eaten enough crow to know . . . I am wrong about people sometimes. So I hope what you say is true. Learning from mistakes is difficult. Education that hurts is, though, often the best education you can get. At least Plato had that part right.

[Side-bar: I wrote this after I wrote my comments about the newest post by Allyson. That said, it doesn't really change what I said there.]
