New Steelheart Video and Acoustic Version

Steelheart has a new acoustic version of "My Freedom" available now. The song was originally written in 2006 and then adapted acoustically during the COVID lockdown. This is a great tack to enjoy going into this holiday weekend in America. If you go out today to celebrate - or this weekend - remember to be smart and safe.

Does anyone remember when Steelheart actually rocked? Gotta go all the way back to ‘92 with Tangled In Reigns. And of course, the Rock Star soundtrack. This band had a lot of potential but have long since went the Bon Jovi route, just like Mike Tramp. Smh

There last album ~ Through Worlds of Stardust ~ had a couple decent rockers on there. My Dirty Girl and You Got Me Runnin' for instance, aren't really that bad. But BK is exactly right, it's no Oh Sheila for sure. Steelheart still puts on a rockin' good time live though, for the few shows that they actually play.

Bon Jovi, Tramp, etc... makes me wonder who they are actually trying to connect to ?

While I am thankful Matijevic is still soldiering on, and his exceptional pipes still appear to be in more than fine condition, I do, shamelessly, really miss the days when Steelheart was more of a pop-metal band with melodies...songs like "Everybody Loves Eileen," "Live Never Before," or "Take Me Back Home." Good 2 B Alive and Worlds Of Stardust were appreciated, but, for me, way too "grungy"...dare I use the word (although I did dig "My Dirty Girl" and, to an extent, "Stream Line Savings".). Oh well, maybe someday. I though Steelheart was supposed to be re-recording some of their historical catalogue for release this year...wonder whatever happened to that?
