Sending Positive Thoughts To KIX
Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 12:48PM
KIX drummer Jimmy Chalfant suffered a heart attack yesterday. He had emergency surgery and is apparently recovering at home. Understandably, Jimmy has a long recovery ahead of him. KIX has many upcoming shows and they will perform them with fill-in drummers.
Anyone who has been reading this site for some time knows I absolutely love KIX. I wish Jimmy a full and fast recovery. Heart attacks are terrifying.

You and Mr. Faulkner are providing (unintentionally and unfortunately) good reminders that people need to take care of their tickers and get those darn things checked from time to time.
I don't care if you run laps or smoke cigars, see your doctor!!! I should know. If not for the gentle prodding of a kind friend, I wouldn't be here annoying you all!!! Don't say it . . . I know what some of you are thinking. I kid. Hope all are well.
Thanks for the reminder about how important it is to monitor your health regularly, especially as we all age.
I am still in shock about what happened to Richie. Crazy that his aorta ruptured during his Painkiller solo and he didn't stop. What a champ. Glad he made it to the hospital in time. Few do.
Take care.
You are spot on. And I was a dolt re: my health. I just didn't care really. Although I smoke, I take relatively good care of myself. And I was lulled into a false sense of invincibility. Again, I owe my friend my life. I now consider every day, post-procedure, a blessing. Am I doing all that I can to prolong my life? Not exactly. But I am being better and trying to extend the range on this rusted-out jalopy!
Thanks again, Rita. I hope you and yours are doing well.
