Remembering Eddie Van Halen 

Today is the one year anniversary of Eddie Van Halen's death. During the past 12 months we've had a lot of tributes from fellow rockers. For me, it still doesn't seem real that such an icon is gone. Eddie's son Wolfgang posted a touching message on his Twitter account, just as he did one year ago.



Eddie died at 65 from cancer. He was a heavy smoker which is a big cancer risk factor. Since the pandemic took hold of the world, many people put off annual physicals and other appointments that might catch cancer early. Maybe one of Eddie's greatest legacies will be that he reminded folks in his age group to go see a doctor once in awhile just for a tune-up.

Not much to say, a year since he passed. One of the all-time best. People far more capable (and smart) than me have praised the legacy he left behind.

For me? The mark of a true original? You always knew it was him when you heard that song (whichever song it was). RIP.
