A Little Motorhead For Black Friday?

A gift suggestion: and just in time for your holiday shopping, Motorhead has released a special vinyl of The Löst Tapes Vol.1 – Live from Madrid ’95. Would make a great gift for the metal lover in your life. Order through the link at the tweet below.

Some good songs on this twin set. Just not sure I need them or want to support BMG!

Last year, my friend bought me the RSD Black Friday reissue of Motorhead's 1980 UK Xmas single of "Ace Of Spades." Came with an 'ornament', which was really just a thin piece of cardboard. It's the thought that counts though, right? And the cover is funny. So I was happy.

And I am not sure that baiting the hook with "Silver Machine" really resonates with fans. There are good versions of the song live out there already, and the version on Hawkwind's _Choose Your Masques_ is suitably nutty! I don't find that version weak at all (naysayers be damned):

And, just for the sake of it, the umlaut thing is a bit tired at this point. Besides, is it a short "o" or a long "o"? I dunno. The Loost Tapes? By Motourhead? Yeah, umlauts are metal as hell. But diphthongs don't need to show off to do the work!
