Festivus Glam Grievances - 2021 Edition
Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 03:26PM
Some glam grievances this glorious Festivus.
- Why won't the bands we love make new music? I'm looking at you, Poison.
- Why do fans of the bands we love complain when there is actually new music? I'm looking at every commentator to this blog at one time or another!
- Steel Panther needs to knock it off and play it straight - at least once in awhile. Don't waste all that talent!
- Ticketmaster and Live Nation keep jacking up their fees so much, seeing a "big" concert is becoming out of reach for lots of Americans.
- There are more than just 10 core Glam bands. Promoters need to go back to the well when it comes to the booking process and quit repeating so many acts year after year. M3, I'm looking at you.
- Want to express creativity? Maybe write some new music, for your own band or other artists as opposed to creating everything else under the sun and trying to hock it to fans. Gene Simmons, Nikki Sixx and Bret Michaels - I'm looking at you.
- Photographers - can you possibly come up with a new way to showcase an entire metal band without having five dudes glaring with crossed arms? Everything doesn't have to be so serious all the time.
What about you? Got any Glam grievances to air on this Festivus for the rest of is?

I was just talking about one of the very topics you bring to light with a very good friend … Why can’t our favorite Glam Bands generate new music? … Crüe? … Def Leppard? … POISON? … Huh-uh-uh-lo-oh!!!
And as far as New Glam Metal / Hair Metal / 80’s Style Hard Rock … Like you say, Allyson, there’s a ton of it out there coming from “newer” acts from all over the globe, especially Sweden and Norway, etc.! … Hair Nation! … Talking to you! …
You could be promoting them on a “Hair Nation 2” or some such, intermixed with the faithful that are still churning it out (i.e. the recently Grammy nominated AC/DC) a la the short-lived MTV2, or something.
