Merry Christmas From 'SantaSnake'

Whitesnake just released a Christmas video... starring David Coverdale as "SantaSnake." There's an F-bomb, a great British accent and mostly in-tune Christmas carol for all to enjoy!

What! … He couldn’t get Sykes to come out and play for this? … In the words of HIM, “I kid, I kid!” … But, seriously, for a moment, imagine if Coverdale had assembled his band of Merry Metaloidz (the current line-up of Whitesnake) to punch in some nice multi-tracked guitar and drums (remotely, if necessary) after the semi - a cappella serenade for a nice Metalled-up rendition?

Never one to shy away from an opportunity like the commercialization of Christmas, Coverdale, nonetheless, gives us proof he can still, indeed, sing, regardless of how much they had to punch in his notes to be on key and manipulate his vocals to smooth out the harmonies.

Also, note the heavy CGI work done to his face to smooth out all those wrinkles to the point of almost being unrecognizable … I guess that’s where the budget went as opposed to giving the song the full band treatment … Still, kudos to the man for putting it out there, whatever his motivation.

But enough of my Grinching … Happy Holidays to you all, even JTR!

p.s. Wait, I thought “Rubber Soul” was Wilson’s favorite album.

@ metalBOY … Merry Christmas. Give the guy a break, He is in his 70s. The man has wrinkles like all people his age. A viewing of Shallow Hal would do you some good.

Just got a new 70” TV (Shoulda gotten the 75”er, haha!!) for Christmas … I’ll watch “Shallow Hal” on your recommendation, Ripper.

But please understand, I’m not knocking the fact Coverdale has wrinkles … I’m knocking him for covering them up … But I now realize, his rationale (or alibi, depending on how you look at it) may have been to look chubbier in the face to more accurately portray St. Nick.

He may actually be wearing prosthetics on his face to disguise the wrinkles, as opposed to letting CGI do the heavy lifting, no pun intended.
