Farewell Joey Jordison
Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 02:33PM
It is just unreal to me, how many musicians we're losing these days. Joey Jordison, founding member and drummer of Slipknot, died yesterday at 46. He had transverse myelitis, but it isn't exactly clear what caused the death. He died in his sleep.
Jordison left Slipknot in 2013. Slipknot's All Hope Is Gone is one of my favorite metal records, period. Jordison's drumming is great on the album. Slipknot is on a social media blackout in honor of Jordison.
Joey Jordison, a founding member of Slipknot, who drummed for the influential metal band in its most popular period and helped write many of its best-known songs, has died at age 46. https://t.co/Uz3j3iIiGi

Every time Gene Simmons goes on his “rock is dead” kick, proclaiming no important bands have come out since Foo Fighters (lol!!), my immediate reaction is “umm…. SLIPKNOT”
Besides the MASSIVE success of Slipknot, let’s not forget the breath of fresh air what was MURDERDOLLS when they first came out. It was a Nu-Metal take on Motley-meets-Misfits designed to piss people off, and they were awesome.
I once saw Murderdolls open for Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie - Joey played guitar with Murderdolls, got changed and then played drums with Zombie.
He also once played drums for Metallica in front of massive audience, with almost no notice.
A real pro, and a true metal icon for modern times.
Godspeed, sir.
Thank you for the background.
What a shame about Joey Jordison …
So sad, so young …
Pray to The Metal Godz he is drumming in Rock & Roll Heaven now.
p.s. Yeah, Mike … $immons is way off on Foo Fighters … Gotta be one of THE WORST bands out there when it comes to their own material, though the new album is a lot better than their usual fare … And I do commend Grohl for his passion for Rock & Roll. It just doesn’t translate into his own music very much.
