Rocklahoma Wrap Video

Rocklahoma took place in Pryor, Oklahoma over the long holiday weekend. There was some bad weather and many complaints about the different stage layouts. Were you there? If so, what did you think? The wrap-up video below looks like it was all a lot of fun. Too bad Rocklahoma changed many years ago and now has very few Glam bands among the lineups.

I attended, my 8th year since 2010. It was pretty hot each day (lower to mid 90s) but no bad weather like previous Rocklahomas. 1 weather delay (pop up storm) that bumped Badflower but everyone else that day was able to play. I dont have too much of an issue with the stage layouts and for the very first time (i believe) they played the feed from the stage that was playing to the stage that was off so people really didnt have to move if they didnt want to.

Best sets:
Slipknot
Halestorm
Ayron Jones
Tremonti
Anthrax
Sevendust
Chevelle

The biggest disappointment was the amount of acts that dropped leading up the weekend. BulletBoys, George Lynch, Limp Bizkit, Phil Anselmo, and Crobot at the top of the list. Mastodon was added to the Shnday lineup on Friday, which was nice. Huge crowd that was happy to be at an outdoor festival after 18 months of Covid. havent seen anything official but probably hit 20,000+ each day.

Ripper, I so wish I had attended when I had the chance 'back in the day'. Now, not really much going on there that is worth the time and travel. You should share some of your memories of that event!

Hendricks, what made those acts stand out? Just curious. I can understand being bummed about some of those acts who dropped out (I would be). How was Mastodon?

I just count myself lucky that I got to two concerts this summer. Slowly starting to crawl back to normalcy.
