Sunday's Best: Week 6, 2022

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! It's an unofficial holiday for Americans today and this one is extra sweet for me because the Cincinnati Bengals made it all the way to the big game... for the first time in 33 years. So my entire day revolves around watching football coverage.

Usually, Super Bowl halftime shows are disappointing, but there have been memorable ones as well, especially Prince performing in the rain and of course Michael Jackson's epic gig in 1993. This year, I have high hopes because the show is featuring some of my favorite 90s hip hop artists. This year we get Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Kendrick Lamar. I cannot express to you how much Eric loved Snoop Dogg when we were in high school. All in all, I'm hoping for a fun day - a real Sunday's Best. I'm crossing my fingers that the Bengals win and bring the Lombardi trophy home to Cincinnati.

The NFL is huge hypocrites in reference to the annual halftime shows. They have no problems playing classic rock as well as many anthems of our glam rock hero's during the games to fire up the crowds but when it comes to the halftime show, tone deaf. A friend and I were talking about it recently and what he said made a lot of sense. The NFL is not trying to appease our generation and is trying to reel in the millennials now. The Boomers and GenX are so far in the rearview mirror of the NFL now.

The halftime show was probably the best ive ever seen. Best thing is that Burrow lost. Ive just never been a big fan of white dudes that try to act and dress like they're black. Did anyone see his outfit he wore to the game? I think he had his Mr T starter kit on underneath. Lmao

Try to Act and dress like their Black? So a flashy suit is Black? So if a Black person wears a Conservative Blue suit are they acting and dressing like their White? Don’t understand the logic. People should wear what they like. One race doesn’t own fashion!
