But Did You See That Queen Performance... For The Queen?
The band also performed a big show at the O2 Arena in London last night. Ah to have been there! Watching the videos on YouTube is a real treat.
Whew! What a surreal evening! It was an absolute honor to join my superiors @DrBrianMay and @OfficialRMT onstage in front of Buckingham Palace for the Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee!….

Adam Lambert channeling Freddie Mercury in front of Buckingham Palace while Brian May and his guitar ascend to the top of the stage in blast of theatrical fog? It must be the Queen's #PlatinumPartyatthePalace!

But, cool. Honorary monarchy, costing the public nothing. Oh wait. At least they have a good fellow waiting in the wings. Oh wait. And they have a pretty good record on colonies . . . right? So it is really cool that Queen is playing for the Queen. I mean, truly. Really. Wonderful. And I am a lumberjack, and that's okay too, right (see below before you chuckle)?
Did this band, I mean, this event, ever sell-out? At least, Brian May isn't Morrissey, Clapton, or Cleese. Oh, and I forget (hiccup!), Morrison (the Irish one, not the faux-poet with a lizard in his smelly leather pants). And it is cool that Taylor's son Rufus is manning the kit for The Darkness, even if their last few outings have been hit-or-miss (even as J. Hawkins' YouTube shows have been uniformly brilliant in recent years . . . dry and funny and on the money; see: his take on Bon Jovi).
To be fair, we on this side of the pond have nothing to laugh at when it comes to these things. So, I am not laughing. Giggle.
