'Degradation Rules' - New Ozzy Osbourne Video

Ozzy Osbourne just released a video for his new track "Degradation Rules." The track features iconic guitarist Tony Iommi too. The song will be on the upcoming Ozzy album Patient Number 9, due out in early September. It's a cool track - how can you not love new music from these two metal masters?

I might be the only one who finds all this late-career stuff (a tad) boring. But this song is repetitive. His vocals (I know, I know . . . only an online version) are overly-processed. The harmonica is a nice touch, if you want to think about "The Wizard" and not this song. The theme? Well, I prefer "No Bone Movies." But, hey, when you are his age, you tend to repeat yourself.

I will give him slight praise when I say that this is better than anything he released in recent years. But, again, it is boring. Though I suppose boring is better than chasing a new sound, or trying too hard too sound contemporary, or sounding like a one-off cover band doing originals in the key of The Beatles.

I enjoyed _13_ by Sab . . . and this song sounds like a song that they decided wasn't up to par for that album. Iommi is on it? Oh goody. Perhaps next time Geezer can write the lyrics/play bass and Ward can play the drums. I can think of a good name for that band.
