Stephen King Is Apparently A Glam Fan
Monday, September 19, 2022 at 03:14PM
The master of all horror - and just brilliant writer - Stephen King is apparently a Glam fan. It's well known he loves rock n' roll. Out of the blue earlier today he tweeted about the need for Quiet Riot. You know, it probably is time for Quiet Riot!
I love random things like this.
Time for some Quiet Riot. "Cum On Feel the Noize." Gotta play it loud.

Obviously, SK loves metal. Maximum Overdrive was a drunken love letter to metal with the soundtrack (and the stories) to prove it. But SK, like Alice Copper, has a bit of trouble remembering things. Cujo? What Cujo? He is to be forgiven,as it still turned out great even if he failed to follow the 'write drunk, edit sober' edict.
And, as a write of pulp, he is also to be thanked for leaving spaces/places for the reader to fill in the rest. That is one reason why so many damn imaginings of his books don't work. We already know what the characters look like and they don't look like the ones that directors put on the screen. The ones that do work? They tweak SK's approach to good effect. Salem's Lot? Yes. The Stand (pick which one)? No. The Shining? Yes, even if that irks him to this day and even if he has some reasonable points about how it is _not_ like the book. The Mist (the movie not the show)? Yes, again because it move beyond him just a bit. IT? Hmm. I still think the Curry one works on one level much better than the two IT movies. But that might just be me.
Still love his work. And nice to know that he can tip his hat to Slade, esp. after DuBrow slagged them for saving his band from the dumpster. As Hodder noted, who cares? They help him to pay the bills! That is a classic retort (and I say that as a person who likes several original QR songs).
