Rick Allen Issues Statement After Attack

Rick Allen of Def Leppard was attacked by an Ohio man last week. Now he is speaking out... a little. It sounds like Rick is recovering and doing so in private, as you would expect. While the statement doesn't explicitly say, I will assume Allen is still planning on pressing charges against 19-year-old Max Hartley. Maybe there is way more to this story. The statement seems a little odd to me.

ABC .Does it sound odd cuz he’s talking about compassion and empathy? I don’tt know squat about Ricks injuries. But I do hope he is fine. If he found the presence of mind to have compassion. Good for him. Keep evolving.

I see both points. Empathy is best, granted. But his post is a touch disconnected.

Me? I assume that it is scattershot because he is still dealing with it. But what do I know? All I care about is him getting better and his attacker getting the help he needs, while also answering for his crimes. Here again, empathy.
