Power Trip Festival Announcement
Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 12:27PM
Here are the confirmed bands for the first Power Trip festival. This begs the question: is this really a festival or just three big shows back-to-back?
3-Day GA starts at $599 and fees. Prices go up for reserved floor and grandstand seats. To access the pit a 3-day pass will run you $1599 plus fees. Ticket sales start April 6.

When nostalgia acts (grated, as was noted in the previous post, all or most of them are still viable touring entities) are well-paid, they show up. And who, then, shows up to see them? The answer sort of writes itself. And the posts by the influencers will be, to the one, GLORIOUS!!! See the problem? Nah. Goldenvoice is the solution!
And Pollstar did the festival no favors when it proudly proclaimed (likely from a PR): "The event promises a heightened experience rather than a mere festival-field packed with metal fans. Ticket offerings include reserved floor seats, grandstand seats, a pit area and premium tickets." Oh, thank God! I was worried it would be lowered and not heightened (so many concerts I go to are too short).
And Goldenvoice continued the fun when they added this word-salad of a pitch: "This unique night-time desert setting with unmatched concert production will amplify the experience beyond the traditional stadium or parking lot concert norm with three double-billed headlining performances. This is the most rocking line-up to ever perform in an unparalleled location for heavy music audiences looking for an unforgettable weekend escape.” I think I will go now, knowing that it will be unparalleled (I like being slightly off-balance, so I think I will avoid the middle), and I love alternative things that are amplified (though I can also listen to acoustic stuff when I am in the mood). But I got a lump in my throat when I found out it wouldn't be that drivel like the US Festival, or Day on the Green, or old-school Donington . . . you know, those non-most-rocking line-ups that people had to put up with back in the day.
Yeah, this is clearly brought to you by the same people who produce Coachella. Clearly.
