W.A.S.P. Postpones US Tour

W.A.S.P. singer Blackie Lawless injured his back and as a result, the band's American tour is canceled. W.A.S.P. has been on the road celebrating 40 years as a band.

Blackie has a herniated disk and broken vertebrae. He was doing shows in Europe in April and May in extreme pain. So much pain, in fact, that fans could notice something was definitely off. The back problems stem from a broken leg years ago. Pain has a tendency to radiate, especially where the back is concerned. Eventually, the pain meant Blackie was performing the end of the European dates while seated in a chair.

The American leg of the tour will pick up in 2024. For now, Blackie is going through physical therapy to hopefully heal his bad back. As someone who developed Piriformis Syndrome and had an episode so bad it radiated up my back, I have extreme sympathy. Then there was the time I had two herniated disks and spent way too many sessions in traction. Playing live in a Metal band is a very physical job and I wish Blackie well in his recovery. Back injuries take forever to heal.
