Motley Made a New Vid for 'Kickstart My Heart'

So Motley Crue made a new video for "Kickstart My Heart" and I'm not exactly sure... why. The band said it was a gift for fans and the new clip is from this summer's tour with Poison and the New York Dolls. I really like the beginning of this clip -- very documentary-like. I don't mind the concert portions either. It's definitely throwback because the original "Kickstart" video is a concert clip from the Dr. Feelgood era. I guess that's where my confusion comes in: why not make a concert clip of a different song? Maybe it is my bias and I can't help it: "Kickstart My Heart" is probably my least favorite Motley tune.

Least favorite Crue tune? Kickstart My Heart? Wow. That's a surprise, to me anyway. This is one of my favorites. Love the song. Haven't checked out the video yet though.

Kickstart My Heart is nothing be a complete rip off of The Sweet's 1973 hit "Hellraiser". See for yourself:

I'm also a bit chocked, it's one of my favorites as well! And I really enjoyed the video, just hoping they will bring their show to Europe as well!

Hahaha!!! Gary, that's what I thought, which is why I got the hell away from the barrier at Outlaw Jam during "Kickstart My Heart", which I guess is the encore for this tour.

p.s. Kenny O! Got one for ya -- You ever heard of a band called Blind Date? Not the cheezoid 70's one, the cheezoid Early 90's one. Just kiddin'... The 80's one ain't that cheesy -- well not as cheesy as the 70's one. Anywho, I'm talkin' Blind Date's eponymous album on Perris Records (an astounding label, if you're at all familiar). It's got their 3 track demo on it from '93 or sumthin' but what's really amazing is their material from 2003, which makes up the bulk of the album. Danger Danger City, my Metal Friend!

p.s.s.t. And I'm with Al. As much as I luv Crüe, this song is when I luv 'em the least.

Ace -- Did you know I partied with Brian Connelly in L.A. back in '94? What a wild man! AND genius. Too bad he didn't realize it himself. Gotta love the way I met the dude. He was throwin' hundreds (literally) at the bartendresses at The Four Seasons Hotel and they were throwin' 'em right back at him. We start buyin rounds for each other and before ya know it, I'm cruisin' in the dude's Rolls with him drunk drivin' (Pretty stupid, I admit, but it was just up the street and a right to the Rainbow)! I know I've talked about this before. Then we got silly drunk in that joint. Dunno if what they did with him cuz I left him there, holding court and took a cab. RIP, Brian. RIP, Sweet.

Nikki always lists The Sweet as one of his main inspirations.(Ace, you're correct, they pretty much pinched the riff for the song!)

Metalboy, cool story bud!

Metalboy, Wayyyy cool story! Brian's the one guy I never got to meet. Was supposed to open for Andy's version of the band once, but they cancelled. =(

Gilby Clark told me a story once about when GnR were playing Wembley Stadium for the Freddie Mercury concert, and Brian wanted to go onstage w/ them & so a song, Axl nixxed it because he had no clue who Sweet or Brian Connolly were.

I went to my first concert this past July, to see Motley, Poison and the New York Dolls. Just watching this video makes me relive that amazing concert

I agree. Why do bands waste time with all these re-releases when they could be spending time shedding light on newer or lesser known stuff. It's always about money. if they wanted to give a gift to the fans they could've done a video for a new or unreleased song.
