Let It Rawk To Debut In January

I just received this press release and I knew you'd all love it. I bolded a section you'll be really interested in - and let me know if you buy tickets!

The Vegas strip had nothing on the Sunset Strip when it came to rock ‘n’ roll, and a new multi-media show is bringing that experience to the stage in a special sneak preview.  LET IT RAWK will debut in the Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, January 18 at 9pm PST.

LET IT RAWK is a loud, colorful, energetic and interactive experience of the hair metal era on LA’s Sunset Strip.  The showroom and stage will be infused with the sights and energy of a legendary rock club.  Performed by guys who were there, shaping the scene, the show’s playlist includes the greatest hits from the ‘80s and early ‘90s.  From Warrant to Motley Crue the best anthems will be performed in all the glory of the day.  And hits from the LET IT RAWK band’s careers are highlights.

The LET IT RAWK band is the real deal.  It’s fronted by Black N' Blue and ex-Warrant vocalist Jaime St. James. Guitarist Oz Fox is in the platinum-selling Christian glam rock band, Stryper. Dokken’s Sean McNabb has played bass for other Kings of The Sunset Strip including Great White and Quiet Riot. Drummer Brent Fitz from Slash And The Conspirators will be slamming the skins. Brent has also played for Vince Neil and Alice Cooper. The band will also feature floating members, such as Eddie Ojeda from Twisted Sister and Bullet Boys original drummer Jimmy D’Anda.  The anchor of the band is LET IT RAWK’s creator and producer, Stacey Blades.

Stacey’s ten years with L.A. Guns cemented him as a must-watch guitar player, and his final record with the band, HOLLYWOOD FOREVER, earned him critical acclaim for his exceptional fretwork.  He left the band last year to pursue his other projects, including LET IT RAWK.  "I have been diligently working on this project since last March, and am super stoked to be sharing the stage with such awesome guys and talented musicians. The show will be playing a few times a month here in Vegas and then be doing casino shows nationally, LET IT RAWK! See you out there!"

LET IT RAWK debuts in the Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station and Casino, 4949 North Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, on Saturday, January 18 at 9pm PST.  General admission tickets are $21.  VIP meet-and-greet upgrades will be available soon. Tickets available now

\m/ HAIR METAL \m/

Hey, you guys are hung up on the term "Hair Metal". I use the term in a totally positive way...

As it is defined on Wikipedia (word for word):

Glam Metal (also known as "HAIR METAL" and often used synonymously with Pop Metal) is a subgenre of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. It combines elements of these genres with Punk Rock and Pop Music, adding catchy hooks and guitar riffs, while borrowing from the aesthetics of 1970's Glam Rock.

It arose in the late 70's and Early 80's in the United States, particularly on the Los Angeles Sunset Strip music scene pioneered by bands like KIX, Hanoi Rocks, Mötley Crüe and Quiet Riot. It was popular throughout the 1980's and the beginning of the 1990s, bringing to prominence bands including Poison, Cinderella, and Bon Jovi.

The genre rapidly lost mainstream interest from 1991 to 1994 with the rise of Grunge and the release of albums such as NirVana's "Nevermind" but has enjoyed something of a revival since the beginning of the new millenium with reunions of many popular acts from the genre's 1980's heyday, as well a the retro styling of new bands including The Darkness and Steel Panther.

It's still very gay to call it hair metal. I love glam metal too much to ever disrespect it the way you do. It's only known also as hair metal because people who hate glam metal started calling it that in the 90's. For some odd reason people who claim to like the music don't understand that it's origins are to mock the music they claim to love. It has NEVER been a positive way to label the music. It's a horrible misguided label not a genre of metal.

I'm not hung up on it. I don't call it hair metal, you do.
I just don't take kind to people that throw that label around and don't understand what it really stands for. Their is NOTHING positive about calling it hair metal. I've never heard anybody say hair metal and not have everybody in the room laugh at how stupid it sounds.

You're not doing the music any favors by calling it hair metal.

Their is no such style as hair metal. Some metal bands have a Glam sound or a Sleazy sound or whatever but I've never heard of a band having a hairy sound. I don't get why you can't understand how extremely dumb it sounds to call a type of metal hair. Sorry to burst your bubble but reducing music down to hair just defies logic. I have no respect for anybody that so easily insults the music I love by calling it hair. You lose all credibility.

Hey, man, you guys are putting the negative connotation on it. I proudly call the music I love "Hair Metal". I do so because there are certain bands that had long hair but aren't necessarily Glam as they didn't or don't don the make-up or Spandex, yet have a very similar 80's sound.

It's really just a way for me to put it all in one genre rather than parsing what is Glam Metal and what is 80's Hard Rock.

Whatever you want to call it or call me, do realize we like the same music, unless of course you listen to Sh*terock hookless wonders like Metallica, Iron Maiden and Anthrax, etc.

p.s. I'm sure Halford wouldn't appreciate you using the term "Gay" in the derogatory manner you are here.
December 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
I'm using gay as in lame. You know damn well I wasn't talking about sexuality. People use gay as a way of saying something is dumb. Gay used to mean happy a long time ago. It can have 2 different meanings. I'm pretty sure everybody else here who said gay was saying it in the same manner. I've even heard gay people say something is gay.

Whatever dude, have fun thinking it's cool to say hair metal. If you really do like the same music as me then great but it's very hard to tell because you love to call it hair metal. It just sends a mixed message is all.

I sure as hell wasn't talking about any kind of sexual orientation.
That was the furthest thing from my mind.
Personally the only people I've come across that say hair metal, hate glam metal w/a passion.

You can have your hair metal hell.
I'm gonna burn in glam metal hell.

Come on Metalboy!
Anything can be gay, it doesn't have to do with guy on guy action. For the love of Satan where is your head at.

Like Hollywood said gay people say things are gay. My sister is friends with a gay guy. Just the other day he was talking about Anchorman 2 and he said the commercials look gay. He wasn't talking about sex.

P.S Metallica, Iron Maiden and Anthrax RULE...no I'm just kidding they suck.
December 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBrian Esperes
C'mon, Bri! Tell the truth... Do you like Metallicantrock, Uniron Maidenform and Anthacks? You can admit it. I won't hold it against you.

p.s. Honestly, I actually like Metallica's first 3 albums and most of their covers, particularly "Stone Cold Crazy". They just lost me when Lars Ulcer took over. "Can I Play With Madness" by Iron Maiden is actually brilliant (I guess your bound to f*ck up and write at least one good song out of the piles and piles of sh*te they call a catalog). And of course, Anthacks completely blow, save for the Joe Jackson, Cheap Trick and Sabbath covers, mainly cuz of UNROCK a*sclown, Snot Ian, who I had the unfortunate experience of having drinks with at an Estee Lauder party in 1990 in NYC, hahaha!!!
December 8, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
Maybe I was a little harsh about Metallica and Anthrax. Even still I have never and never will own any of their CD's. They have some good songs here and there but nothing really ever to write home about. "Stone Cold Crazy" is Metallica's best song but the originators Queen have it on lockdown.

So what made Scott Ian such a dick. I'm not a fan by any means but I do love the episode of "Married With Children" that Anthrax was on (that's their best work to date).

P.S I thought I was being clear enough that I don't really care for those bands.

P.P.S If you really do genuinely love the bands than F*ck it, call it whatever the hell you want. Obviously nobody's gonna change your mind. You've been tested like crazy, here...To quote Motley Crue "You gotta stick to your guns, whats right for you ain't right for everyone...come along"

Bri, I'm with ya. I h*te frickin' Metallica and Anthrax. And Iron Maiden. Iron Maidens (plural) is a different story, though. Those chicks really clean up that Greaser Metal right and actually make it sound better than the original. As far as the aforementioned bands go, however, I merely wanted to point out some of those sh*te acts' passable moments. Rock on, Bro. \m/

Dang, did this one ever get off topic. I don't care what you call it....hair music, glam or 80's rock......it's still the best music ever made in my opinion. That's why we are all on this site.

As for Jamie St. James, I had heard exactly 2 Black & Blue songs up until 2008. I bought their "Best Of" CD in preparation for seeing them for the first time at Rocklahoma 2008. I fell in love (in a non-gay sort of way) with the CD immediately and it is still one of my favorite. Black & Blue still sound great live, and with all of the great acts on the Monsters of Rock cruise, Black and Blue was one of my favorite last year and the year before. I wish they would tour more often.
December 10, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNC Rocker
NC Rocker, I agree. I was on MORC and they totally ROCKED the boat. "Nasty Nasty" is one of THE Best Hair Metal (that's right, I said, Hair Metal) ever.

p.s. I know you guys don't like the term but to me, these guys aren't quite Glam Metal, though they are often categorized as such, and they're not all that Metal, though they are a little, even though they might shun the categorization, as I believe they would rather be called a Rock & Roll Band. Many might view them as "80's Hard Rock". Taking all this into account plus the fact that St. James still has huge hair (lucky for him, it's naturally curly), I'll stick 'em in the "Hair Metal" category and I do not mean that in a derogatory way by any sense of the word as others construe it.
December 10, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
Hair metal! LOL!

I can't believe more people aren't outraged by this slander of the music talked about here. That's blatant disrespect and only a few people had the balls to speak up.

Why not come up with a name to define the music you call hair, instead of using a name that was invented by people that have complete hatred for glam metal. Hair isn't a sound it's hair. The whole point of the name was to be derogatory. You can pretend all you want that it's not but that doesn't make it true.

Doug, you're just wasting your time, a handful of people have tried to get him to understand how idiotic it sounds to call it hair metal. It's painfully obvious he has no idea how dumb that phrase is. I even tried to let it go and make some sort of peace with him but then the next day his post has that ignorant phrase in it 3 times. He does it on purpose. He thinks it's funny to mock the bands we truly love.
December 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBrian Esperes
If you guys would just READ my comments, I said I, meaning me, myself and I, describe it in a derogatory way, as some of you view it.
December 11, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMetalboy!
Metalboy, this is like when grandad uses the word Negro to describe a colored person. He is not using it in a derogatory way But it does offend others. He doesnt get it and neither do you! Stand tall with Pops, Rock on Be strong!
I still think this is true!

Metalboy!,
The problem is, I have READ your comments.

You just want to get a rise out of people. You would have to be a complete moron to fail to see how ignorant that phrase is. You are doing it on purpose and don't care how stupid you come across as long as you get to f*ck with people.

Jack T Ripper,
You need to shut up with your thinly veiled racist comments. I'm black and your comments really piss me off. I tried to ignore the ignorance of your previous comment. Ain't a damn thing positive about somebody calling a black person a negro or colored. Why do you think most white people don't say negro or colored in 2013...because it's racist and wrong.
