I Need A New Playlist

Ok kids, it's time for a new gym playlist. I'm about to get serious about my running again after a super long winter and a chaotic month of moving between a house, an apartment and finally my new place. So the deal is this: I've been using the same workout playlist for two years. Seriously. It's sort of a pain to move everything around on my iPod, so I just tend to dump music on it and forget about it. This is fine... until the playlist gets so stale I want to scream. So I need some really good music selections.

Keep in mind I like cardio, specificlaly running but I'll also do the elliptical machine. I like to lift some light weights sometimes too, but I'm not big into strength training (although I should be). I tend to like to keep my workout playlists to metal - every once in awhile a pop song gets mixed in. Also, I don't want any classic glam mentioned - I own all those songs anyway and most are already on at least one of my iPods (one I use for my car, the other for training). So fire away. I'm anxious to hear what you like to listen to when working up a sweat!

Nice list, Oper8n, except for the shite in between every 3rd track, but then again, one could say the same about mine, too, I suppose, as Beaty is in the ear of the beholder.

and when you want to do a "final 2 minute hard go" (old wrestling activity), where you just want to let everything go beholden of you, crank that treadmill up and I don't recommend this for the weak, feeble or naïve...

So What by Metalicca

then on the way home, pop in Tom Keifer's The way life goes and listen from beginning to end. you should find your utopia.

and after going through those mental and physical exercises, I share my values and beliefs with our (the collective our)sons; whether they are adopted sons, foster sons or the sons with whom you left me in charge over the years and have very intimate, personal conversations that start somewhat like this (hence my earlier post): I know that we live in a world where it is male dominated. Also, there is a lot of racism, sexism, physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic abuse, exploitation, derogatory stereotypes, and so forth. You are exposed to these problems everyday and now with the Internet, it's more accessible and confusing, We know your background. We understand your emotions. We know it might not make much sense to you today. But, I want to share with you what mom and I believe. It's not what is in your pants that makes you special. It's what in your heart, your mind and your soul that is important. Those are your "body parts" that we hope to cultivate in a positive way. This is our hope. This is our faith. This is what we offer to you...

then, after that trip in time, I put together a new playlist and in the same vein as "so what", I end it with the offspring's "one fine day". afterward, I have a downtoearth talk with our (the collective our) sons about psychological diagnoses such as ADHD and Aspergers. Do they exist? absolutely! Can one live with them and be better for it? absolutely! Are they overdiagnosed? absolutely! Do we have to tolerate misdiagnoses...unfortunately, yes. That's why you (the collective you) have understanding guardians.

develop another playlist and then on your last 2 minute hard go, play wasp's fuck like a beast. and be sure to nail it down! then, the next day, go into your child's school and explain to the superintendant, principal, guidance counselor, special ed teacher, school psychologist and many other naysayers and tell them that they are wrong.
