I Need A New Playlist

Ok kids, it's time for a new gym playlist. I'm about to get serious about my running again after a super long winter and a chaotic month of moving between a house, an apartment and finally my new place. So the deal is this: I've been using the same workout playlist for two years. Seriously. It's sort of a pain to move everything around on my iPod, so I just tend to dump music on it and forget about it. This is fine... until the playlist gets so stale I want to scream. So I need some really good music selections.

Keep in mind I like cardio, specificlaly running but I'll also do the elliptical machine. I like to lift some light weights sometimes too, but I'm not big into strength training (although I should be). I tend to like to keep my workout playlists to metal - every once in awhile a pop song gets mixed in. Also, I don't want any classic glam mentioned - I own all those songs anyway and most are already on at least one of my iPods (one I use for my car, the other for training). So fire away. I'm anxious to hear what you like to listen to when working up a sweat!

Coincidentally, I too, just fried my Playlists. After The Monsters of Rock Cruise, I burned out on 80's Glam Metal (a temporary malady, trust me, friends). So, I decided to give it a break for awhile (that will last about a month or so) and switch back to Mid to Late 70's Classic, Hard & Glam Rock -- Stuff I've listened to since I was in high school but put on the backburner (more or less) since the 80's.

Here's Part I of a Playlist I created just last week to run around the lake near my apartment (2 1/2 mile laps). Enjoy:

When I do work out or go running I tend to go with heavier stuff, ie Slayer, Slipknot (my favorite), Metallica, All That Remains, Priest, Overkill, Pantera, Machine Head, etc, etc....

Here is my exercise playlist that I've carefully cultivated for a few years:

I find a healthy dose of Skillet, Thousand Foot Krutch, Rob Zombie, Rage Against The Machine, Billy Talent, Hardcore Superstar, Disturbed, and other various metal acts that have a beat. I need to have some bounce in my music when I run.

A newer band I've really been enjoying is Hyrax and their album Over The Edge.

I'll second the fact that Pantera is some great music to get pumped to. Cowboys from Hell can't be beat!

It's what's in the heart that counts. plain and simple. Tell me what is in your heart and on your mind. That's where it's at. Leave your dick at home. We care about your heart and your mind. That's where it's at. your wee wee is meaningless. ok secondary. no...meaningless. c'mon socios

Some that I used when running

White Zombie - Electric Head Part 1
Van Halen - Humans Being
Blame - Gravity Kills
Disturbed - Voices
Black Label Society - Funeral Bell
Rob Zombie - American Witch

They all had a great steady beat that was perfect for feet hitting the ground.
