Europe Lands A Geico Commercial

Maybe Warren Buffett is a Glam fan? You know you hum "The Final Countdown" when nuking a hot pocket. Just admit it. I hope the guys in Europe made good bank from this!

And here's the behind-the-scenes clip, which is very cool.

There's something so cheesy about Europe that still makes me like the "World's Worst Cover Band" version of their one big hit, better than the original.

I would imagine a Geico commercial is very good "coin" for Europe. Certainly better than coordinating, paying for and executing a tour in which you play in front of max 3000 people a night.

Good for them! Often wonder how much they make from "Countdown". It's played ALOT at sporting events, which leads a millennial to hit iTunes and cough up $.99 for it.

one hit, somebody doesnt like europe or hasnt listened to anything by them. they have tons of great songs and im not talikng just the singles. i hate there last album but everything before that has some great songs. the out of this world cd and prisoners in paradise loaded with great songs and riffs.but back to the commercial i find it strange after all the dissing they do about there past music and saying they would rather not play it anymore that there cashing in on it with no hesitation.

That's right, Glamrocker Archie! Beneath the cheesy veneer lurks a monster rock band... John Norum is a killer guitarist. I forget who it was in Comments on this site tellin' me to check out his 1st solo album. KILLER! Time to "Rock The Night"!

FYI -- The Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia are the culprits behind this, along with all the other classic Geico ads throughout the years, from the classic "Neanderthals" to the "Geico Gecko" campaigns, etc.

I enjoyed the commercial, and good to see the band having fun, and frankly anything that helps increase hard rock's visibility is a good thing. I suspect some of the people complaining would be complaining about "yet another Taylor Swift commercial" if they had not used Europe. I was not the biggest Europe fan "back in the day" but they were great in concert this year on the MoRC and I really like the new album.

Yeah, Mike and Europe are a helluva lot more affordable than Taylor Swift!
