Hey Mom! It Is A Car Crash... And I Like It!
Today's post is from our friend HIM.
The title of this entry is enough to clue you in on the video below:
I love AC/DC. I enjoy Steel Panther. I feel “meh” about Myles Kennedy, especially when I see him singing Guns N’ Roses songs.
But you know what? This is . . . just . . . plain . . . fun. Sure, it is sloppy. Sure, Saenz and Kennedy handle the hand-offs like two lubed up dim wits. Lyrics are mangled. But fun is had. And Parrish does the Chuck Berry (not the Angus Young) well.
In a mid-sized Inland Northwest town called Spokompton (full disclosure: I love Spokane and wish shows other than “COPS” filmed there), Steel Panther reminded people what they are all about. For haters, it is bad parody and poor form. For fans, it is fun times and good memories.
Miles? You made me a fan . . . for a day. You showed up, supported your hometown, had fun, and added to the mix. You pointed to what makes some Steel Panther shows a blast. I salute you.

But you won't agree with me!... Myles Kennedy SUUUUUCKS!!!
I mean, WTF... It's not "VAN HALEN featuring David Lee Roth", for Chrissakes. Where is Slash's situational awareness on this... It should be SLASH in all capped CHROME, as it actually was for a time.
Look, we all know Weiland was a pain in the arse (God Rest His Rock & Roll Soul), but sure as h*ll, you couldn't call Velvet Revolver mediocre. Slash settled for less with this as*clown Kennedy, when he could have gotten anybody.
Let's hope the Gn'R thing lasts just to get this nobody off the frickin' stage. Just pray AC/DC doesn't pick him up, hahaha!!!... though I don't really see Angus goin' for that. Who should AC/DC get if they decide to keep going. There's a question worth a post!
p.s. Keep it long and ROCK on, Eddie!
I heard an option was the singer they had before Bon. But who knows.
However, the members of BF live in my general vicinity and have played in local cover bands which I've seen many times. Any time I've asked about Dean, I've basically gotten the same response in that he has kinda gone the way of Donnie Purnell....but I'll still make the case, still carry the torch and still keep the faith.
would've been fun.
The only concern would be the health of Keifer's voice singing AC/DC material night after night.
Another possibility would be Gary "Angry" Anderson of Rose Tattoo, a fellow Aussie, but I'm not sure of his current status.
Hey, what about UDO? Hahaha!!!
