Styx Teases 'The Mission'

Styx will celebrate their 40th anniversary with a new alum. It's apparently a concept piece and will be called The Mission, due in June. You can check out the first single "Gone, Gone, Gone" below.

It sounds just like you'd expect Styx to sound. Good for them.

Ace, when you heard "gone gone gone", did yu hear a resemblance to "Rocks Off" by def Leppard? That's the first thing I thought of when I heard the song.

Bob, I can see why you'd say that. That riff is very similar! What resally stuck with me was the signature chorus of background vocals.

If we are going to talk about Styx-and I am a stooge, as I would rather talk about DeYoung--I might as well ask: did anyone see last week's episode of Bob's Burgers? They based it around a very funny trip to a laser light show at the local planetarium that featured a song with a decidedly Styx-ish narrative. Had me chuckling.

Elton and Billy Joel are bucketlisters. fpo me. I've had the chance to see them (much like Lemmy and the Ramones) but for whatever reason, it never materialized. I may have a chance to see BJ in the fall, don't know when/if I'll get to see Elton walk his yellow brick road.

I am, however, seeing a bucketlister this w/e at M3...Dangerous Toys. If any of you regular posters are there, I'll buy you a drink if you introduce yourselves.
