I Know How I'm Spending My February Audible Credit
There's a new book out today about the collaboration between RUN D.M.C. and Aerosmith. Remember all those years ago when the groups got together for "Walk This Way?" That was a really big deal. Now Geoff Edgers has a new book about it called Walk This Way: Run-DMC, Aerosmith, And The Song that Changed American Music Forever.
I am just finishing up my January Audible book (Everyday Millionaires by Chris Hogan) so this is great timing. I also have a nightstand stack of books that just keeps getting bigger and bigger, but I digress. This new Aerosmith book sounds fun.

I’ve made millions and blown millions, wearing Guccis and driving Cadillac convertibles the whole way! Dom Perignon and Opus One. Beluga! Stoli Elite! Surf & Turf! Beachfront, Round trips on the Concorde, Led Zeppelin point blank! Supermodels! VIP!
And now I’m broke! And you know what? I’d do it all over again just as recklessly! There’s only one way to ROCK! \m/
I am actually working on it now.
I just realize I can’t publish it until I retire because I’m not changing any names and some of the people I’m going to trash are now clients or potential clients.
Still, I am working on it. My thought is by the time I finish it, I will be ready to retire, which is a much better strategy than waiting ‘til I retire BEFORE I start writing it.
Another thing I just realized is, though I didn’t have to foot the bill, I stayed at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel in Hollywood over 200 days during my 15 years on Madison Avenue!
You should know better by now, Allyson. You bait the hook, bkallday bites. But if you ask him how it tasted, he swears he doesn't know what you are talking about! He is even certain--I mean, beyond a shadow of a doubt--that it was he who had you on the line. That is also a roundabout way of saying "thanks" again for letting such a diverse 'stream' of 'fishy' posters continue to post on your great site!
When you slam other people's dreams you are often trying to make due with your own waking hours. You don't have to walk this way. But you can at least enjoy your path and let others enjoy the one they are on.
Again, I think it is a lack of hugs. But what do I know? I give out advice and don't take it. At least I know that.
You keep on being 'straight up'. You keep calling people like me 'soft ass PC' fanboys (not explicitly stated, but certainly implied). What's the harm? None so far as I can see. I will just keep giving you a good-natured (well, sometimes I can do a bit more than that . . . seeing as how a squishy tookus is capable of a sharply worded barb when the occasion calls for it) ribbing when you seem to be a bit, well, too full of yourself.
I ask you to do the same: keep posting your thoughts. Keep slinging those glancing blows. Keep responding out of step when you are stumped. But, above all else, keep being you. Like I said, you and I agree on several topics. You and I also mention that when the need arises (as I did with your recent Aerosmith post). I said months ago that I thought, face to face, you and I would get along just fine. That is a guess. But I appreciate the color you add to the discussions.
More generally, I want more and more people to add to the discussion on BBG! This is a great place. And Allyson makes that happen. We are lucky.
One other critique ...
Though you and I occasionally agree on a topic, it is unfortunate you more often than not only troll Commentors, as opposed to offering any substantial commentary about the subject posted.
Noted and commented on. Thanks
Can't you accept a compliment, even if it comes with a measure of snarky good humor? I guess not. Instead you circle back and try to find a source code for your need, one that Metalboy! zoomed in on, to simply dig in your heels.
Let me state it more plainly and without any artifice: you are one of the people who makes this site special. Full stop. We don't agree on everything. And I give you a good ribbing when I think you need it (and agree with you when you and I share a sentiment). But that does nothing to lessen the fact that you step in and give your two cents. I hope you have a good Sunday.
