This Is Cheesy
Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 12:01AM
Aldi is releasing some rock n' roll themed cheese. Specifically there will be Def Leppard and Guns n' Roses varieties. The flavors? Sweet Cheddar Of Mine and Pour Some Gouda On Me, of course.
Look, this proves we've brought back glam, people. It doesn't get any more mainstream than fancy cheese from a discount store. The cheese will be $3.49 and in limited supply so act fast. All these special items always sell out at Aldi.

Even though this line of cheeses is pointlessly stupid, at least it inspired a very clever and funny comment for you, sir!
[Sidebar: First experienced the majesty of Aldi (a bit of the tongue in cheek, but in a respectful way) when I lived in Pittsburgh. I wish there was a store near me now. They are like Grocery Outlet's German cousin. Speaking of which, the brother that ran Aldi [Sud, in the US] will always have my support. The brother that ran Trader Joe's [Aldi Nord, in the US]? Not so much. To up-sell basically the same concept . . . well, I guess there is a market for that too. But I defer to Karl even if I give Theo credit for knowing how to charge a mark-up for premium generic items with funny names.]
But why stop there (texjay had the right idea)? Band-based: Black n' Blue Cheese; Fastway Fondue (or Fontina, you pick); Cheap Trick Cheddar; Guns n' Gruyere. Song-based: "Flick of the Swiss"; "Asiago for Strings"; "Carmina Burrata"; "Down on Brie"; "Wherever I May Romano"; "Bringing on the Havarti."
I mean, to not add to the list would be a sign of (lactose) intolerance.
I knew not to even try after reading Gogmagog’s “Funny Gary” level quip.
