The Stadium Tour - Postponed

As expected, The Stadium Tour - featuring Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - is officially postponed until 2021. New dates are being worked out and refunds will apparently be available soon.

We all expected this weeks ago now. Still not sure what took so long considering there is no announcement of rescheduled dates.

Yeah, I thought we all knew this was gonna happen. Maybe this will allow them to get a better opener than JJ now, though! 🤞🏼

How in the heck can you even begin to reschedule dates at "sporting" venues, when the sports they house themselves in are unsure how to proceed ? They have no clue when it will be socially acceptable to even think about an event of this magnitude.

Hit the refund button, stop them from playing with your $$ for promises that may or may not be honored.

Which brings me back to an original ask that I had, these bands must have received some upfront signing bonus money to not just hit the refund button.

Okay, BK ... Huh-uh-uh-lo-oh!!! ... You do recall EVERY member of the 3 main acts worship the ground she walks on !!!

AND ... both she and Lep are in the R&RHoF while Crüe and Poison are NOT!

Still, I would like to see a reunited Cinderella and RATT join this tour and REALLY blow it out! (Get it? “Blow it out!”, as in what they used to do with all that big hair back in the day!

Bkallday has a point (and he made it several weeks ago): she hasn't had a hit in eons. Never mind that none of these bands had been burning up the charts in recent years (as if that matters, right?). But I take his point. She is a bit of an outlier. And I also take Metalboy!'s point, she is a rock goddess!

In terms of overall stamina and staying power, Lep lap the other bands over and over and over again (regardless of what you and I think about their recent tours and albums). They, at least, never claimed to be 'going out on top' (wink, wink) and never claimed they were done (wink, wink). Poison was gonna be a rare treat for their fans because, obviously, seeing the original guys together beats seeing Horse Hair trying to give you something to believe in with his band at the chili cook-off. And Jett, say what you want, has been doing solid business as a third- or fourth-tier act for many years and has always sounded great.

So, what's not to love? This: "refund policy will be made available shortly." But that is a small gripe, given that they will refund you (at some point). My point in all this has been, as Allyson suggests, that they could have said something earlier (hell, Jett did).

And I do hope, seriously, for all those who wanted to go, that this happens in 2021. We shall see. But predicting this message was easy back in April, a sure thing in May, and now it is just news in June.

Silver lining? Perhaps more Methods of Mayhem. I kid. I really, really do.

I like Method of Mayhem & his solo stuff, and I’m know I’m in the distinct minority(never got a problem with that lol) on this. I don’t care that he has a hip hop side or that he’s not as interested in non hard rock/metal music. I don’t think he’s being fake or disingenuous. I can understand the criticism for the way he’s treated women in the past, or some of his more checkered history, but I don’t think there’s any problem with not living up to a certain stereotype, or being different. Looking forward to MOM’s newest release though & im totally fine being the only one on this board that is, that’s the way I like it anyway! 🤘🏼

Totally cool, Bkallday. I appreciate that reply. You owned your opinion. That's the way it should be. If everyone agreed on everything, things would be too boring! I hope you and yours are doing well.

Well, it's been a long time since I've rock and rolled! Good to see so many of the old gang here (yes, including you MetalBoy ;) ). I agree that while Joan Jett is a rock goddess of sorts (I only give her that due to her stint with The Runaways), she doesn't fit the want of a certain genre that dominates this bill. There are many, Ratt (always boring live in my opinion...love the records, bored since the bygone days of The King); Tesla (always great live, but Keith tends to grate on some people's ears...not mine); Cinderella as mentioned, but after interviewing Tom several times over the years...ain't gonna happen. You also have a few bands out there that no one dares mention...either of the Great Whites (though Jack's would be my pick), Warrant, Trixter, Firehouse...bands that fit the actual bill. Personally, I think Joan was just a nod because the tickets sold and were already buzzing BEFORE she was officially added. Not to mention, she's getting MAYBE a 30 minute set. And all the discussion still has question marks to determine if these shows will even be able to take place as the OLD normal depending the virus and the outcome of the 2020 election. I'm just stating what all of us are thinking and would rather not address the 700 lb. gorilla in the room (I am not affiliated to either party btw).

I'm glad to see you all are still here after many years of being away from the site and Ally...glad to see you've kept it going. I went back the past weeks and read all the posts I've missed and still loving what I read. God bless you all and stay healthy and POSITIVE! Much love to you all!
Sweet Lou.

Sweet Lou, some good insights. And I think you are right about why they picked her. She takes up very little time, and they might add a few more butts to the seats. Is she the perfect fit? No. But I bet she was available at a good price. And, if and when they do this tour, I am sure that those who show up that early will enjoy her short set. She still brings it. And, again, I appreciated how she spoke up about her concerns about touring right now. She showed respect for a lot of people. That deserves respect for doing that.

Just curious: have you heard Russell's GW's latest acoustic album? I picked it up (autographed) because I was curious and wanted to support bands/artists that I love(d) during these times. Have to say, it is really good considering all that guy has gone through.

Sweet Lou! ... Appreciate the nod (or are you just being sarcastic, haha!!) ... Either way, I still believe she’s legit being on this bill ...

She’s the only one other than Def Leppard on the bill in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, though I do believe Crüe is deserving, as well ...

Poison’s a heavier lift but almost as deserving, though I don’t think Wenner and the judges can get past all the missteps after the first album, especially Brett Michaels’ lame solo output.

I still contend she’s a good fit as she is clearly a big influence on all these bands and I bet they’d be the first to tell you (even the hair and attitude) ...

Hey, Lou ... Speaking of ... You seem like someone in the know with an inside track ... How come The Runaways aren’t in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? ...

I heard it was Kenny Laguna (Jett’s producer and Colonel Parker) ... I wonder if he would allow them to perform together even if they were inducted ...

And agree to disagree with you on RATT and Cinderella, man ... Both would be great additions to an already stellar line-up ...
